Correction to my earlier post: Twinbarrel and Uragan both last for 6 minutes and S1000 lasts for 30 seconds.

It's essentially an AMR stun sniper with 100% accuracy and VERY high muzzle velocity. The stun shotgun already fires just one projectile to start with. Adding a shotgun mag from the semi-auto gives it a pellet spread, but I think the damage is still spread between all pellets, making longer range shots very improbable. I have so far only tested it on unarmored MB soldiers 100-200 meters away, and it does seem a one hit KO regardless of point of impact. No bullet drop, either, as far as I can tell. The application might not be that useful, but it does allow for pintpoint accurate non-lethal shots AND allor for a launcher or a door opener (AMR). Mostly just a fun weapon, though. Works well in FOB, too!

It's far from pretty bad.

AFAIK the chicken hart lowers the readiness for some period of time. No confirmed source for this as my pride prevents me from using it.

Hi guys. My internet really sucks, so uploading anything is pretty slow and bad. I do however like the speedrun aspect of thje game and have some ideas, but as of now, they all go to waste. Therefore, I am proposing this thread, where you can submit your strat or idea requests for someone else to pick the fruit of your work.

Mission 13: Use box travel and stun/sleep launchers, shoot the tank with an AMR or blast arm, extract via container. Should be quite fast that way.

I would advocate its ban even if it was for all versions. It can lead to hilarious results, like a suppressed twinbarrel stun shotgun with AMR velocity and accuracy.

If anyone has any questions about pretty much anything about the game, just ask. I have almost 200 hours logged at 92%, so there is very little I don't yet know.

I'd say to ban it at least from peacenik. Any% S is already easy enough to not need it, so that wouldn't hurt, either. I don't have an opinion for full game runs (you get it so late anyway so it's only ever going to be useful for all 51 missions and 100%.)

The mist makes things way too easy and monotonous, basically just sprint through everything without a worry. This obviously doesn't look entertaining, nor is it challenging at all.

Armor is okay IMO. It's only ever useful in few select missions where stealth is not the preferred method anyway, so it's not going to make a huge dent in times or entertainment. Sure, you get to survive Quiet's shots in the extreme version, but with enough skill, she won't be shooting you anyway. Same deal with Sahelanthrophus; Battle dress offers enough protection for the one minute it takes to kill it. People run past the sniper skulls, so it's not useful there, either. The only mission I can see it making a dent is the Metallic Archaea, both versions. Then again, who cares about that since stealth or gtfo as entertainment value goes.

tl;dr: Ban mist. Armor okay until someone figures out a game breaking exploit with it. At least limit mist to one use of the lower grade if it must be allowed for any% S. Otherwise it'll destroy the entire speedrun structure.

The semi-autos that can mount a launcher: AM MRS-71 Rifle, AM MRS-73 Rifle, AM MRS-73 NL and Bambetov SV. Basically any rifle that can mount a barrel with an undermount except the ultra-short versions. Launchers also prevent drum mags.

If this is allowed, it's going to make a lot of peacenik runs monotonous without any real strategy. If not, I'm not going to be able to compete at all :D

If you don't, for some reason need the AMR, the M2000 sniper at the last grade tranqs within 1-2 seconds even on an arm or a leg hit. Good choice for peacenik.

Another good option for a primary is the UN ARC NL with a stun/sleep launcher on it. Massive radius on stun grenades and they won't cause combat alerts. Shoot behind a Walker Gear to incapacitate pilot. Riot suits are not a match, either.

Semi-auto tranq sniper can also mount a grenade launcher.

Need the last Brennan grade to unlock the suppressor for the Serval. Shoot a riot suit in the leg to incapacitate without killing, just remember to fulton him or finish before he dies.

People you indirectly drown (tranq into a river or a puddle) do not count as kills.

Parasite suit does not lower rank by itself. Only the stealth camo parasite does that, meaning mist and armor can still get you an S.

Twinbarrel shotgun stun is 2 minutes and the S1000 only lasts for 25 or so seconds.

EDIT: Just to add; You can remake the avatar from the customize menu in the ACC, no need to replay the prologue.

Box travel is also VERY useful in mission 13 and saves a small amount of time in mission 2 as well.

In the rules it says no parasite suit allowed, but since ONLY the stealth camo lowers rank, I am wondering if this is an oversight or something else? I have a Skullface run, PSNK and no traces S rank, but I used the parasite suit. So, deliberate or what?

That's what I am saying. You can use Mist and Armor all you want and still get S.

As far as I know, parasite suit with mist still allows for an S rank, as does with armor. Only if you have camo parasites will you void the S-rank. If this is okay to do, try it.

Does it count if I post the time with screenshots when I get to 100% no matter how long it might be? Technically not a speedrun, but it'd be a 100% for someone else to break :D
