I don't understand why there's this separation of time without loads and with loads if the loads are just the cutscenes and even if you have a worse device they are still the same length, not to mention that you can walk while the cutscene happens for most of them. It just makes timing harder and more vague and isn't even needed. Like, when is it a load, for example when you first go to bed: is it when cutscene begins, when you enter bed, etc.
Basically the thread for whatever skips / shortcuts the community finds (video preferred for the skips)
For example, is a high jump a glitch, or a lag high jump, or maybe a wall hop? What is exactly considered a glitch?
Full Game Runs:
Main story: Time starts at first movement in Chapter 1 (dialog doesn't matter because you can move in it) and ends when the Credits Image while Teleporting appears
100%: Time starts at first movement in Chapter 1 (dialog doesn't matter because you can move in it) and ends when you got last badge (or did interaction for last badge, if you already have it)
Individual Level Runs:
Chapter 1: Time starts at first movement and ends when the transition trigger is met
Chapter 2: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when the transition trigger is met
Trial 1: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when the transition trigger is met after you collect crown
Chapter 3: Time starts at first movement and ends when the transition trigger is met
Trial 2: Time starts at first movement and ends when the transition trigger is met after you collect the gear
Chapter 4: Time starts at first movement and ends when the transition trigger is met
Trial 3: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when the transition trigger is met after interaction with the elevator
Chapter 5: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when the transition trigger is met
Chapter 6: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when the transition trigger is met
Finale: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when Nebulous Noob's health bar disappears
Conclusion: Time starts after the first textbox is read (skipped) and ends when the transition trigger is met
Additional Rules:
-For individual level runs you are not allowed to move while the first cutscene happens or while you are teleporting, it must be seen you starting at the first checkpoint
-For full game runs you are allowed to move while teleporting for the exception of the beginning of Chapter 1
-For individual level runs you are allowed to only use the wings ability at the start of the run without the time starting, all other abilities when used at start will automatically start the timer
-By first textbox I don't mean the whole dialog just the first line, timing would start when the dialog disappears or the next textbox appears
-Ask any questions in the comments and I'll probably respond to them when I got time about this, I think this is pretty fair timing and should be incorporated in the moderation
-The super moderator should put a comment if this is gonna be official or not just an idea by me right now for fair timing
I'm suggesting that the Old and New Obbies in Green Hill should be in separate categories, Old category as an archive so it's fair and not confusing.
Hi, as it seems there currently is a problem, it might not be as fair for 1 player and 2p, 3p etc... to be in the same category. Could this be changed?
Hello, I have found a way to clearly retime the (Sedan Full Run and Sedan Sport Full Run + IL Runs)
Sedan Full Run: Time starts the frame the "Spacebar" GUI appears on the screen.
Sedan Sport Full Run + IL Runs: Time starts the frame the white curve line on one of the wheels of the car moves.
You pretty much have to eye-ball the other categories, the explanations above can be timed perfectly to the frame.
Love how Sedan got to the point of optimization that the world record is faster than Cybertruck and has double the levels, you know what that means? It is time to speedrun Cybertruck! Recommend trying it out as it isn't really optimized to its full potentional, sub 2:00 might even be possible in the future.
Great, my near-perfect run died to level 20 on the last section (easiest). Any thoughts?
