The time starts once you can move the character. (on the first frame when standing up)

The time ends once you confirmed the return to orbit. (on the second frame after the dialogue window disappears)

The overlay timer should be started before that (close to the end of the door opening) and should be stopped after return to orbit has been confirmed.

The overlay is there to make calculating the runtime easier but most importantly to make it easier for anyone interested in speed running the game to follow along.

The 1080p rule exists for the same reason. (to make it more entertaining to watch)

So just try your best to have a timer running during the counted portion of the run.

This was a great run so i will allow it, but don't use full screen if you are going to tap out cause next time the recording isn't continues or gets obstructed i will reject the run.

So please restart and try again the next time there is a recording issue.

Please include a timer overlay next time.

It was a good run and i really like the trick of setting thatch on fire to keep warm.

You really should rethink crafting up to a hunting rifle, even in hardcore.

With this weeks mission update a lot of missions got merged and many more got new difficulty settings.

Now that Hard/Hardcore missions are no longer separate "nodes" on the mission tree but instead difficulty settings the speedrun categories need to be redone.

I don't know if each difficulty should have its own category or not.

It is clear that Harcore should be its own category since it prevents respawn teleporting.

Right now i favor declaring the default difficulty as "easy" and not tracking any other. (speedruns on other difficulties would be still counted as a valid "easy" speedrun)

If you have any idea on how to structure the leaderboards with the new mission system please share them here.

Used M14 yesterday evening after the patch. I couldn't make it work in small caves, do you have an example cave?

I don't use Unstuck that often so i don't know a lot of Unstuck Locations that will teleport you back but here are the ones i know:

O13 top right inside the cave O13 bottom right down in the snow hole M14 top left inside the cave F8 middle right against the northern wall of the entrance to the arctic F11 top right inside the snow hole L14 top left against the south west wall

Hey all!

always was the guy in the group that did things fast and efficient. Have been following speedruns for years, watching all the games i played and some i would never touch.

Survival games are one of my favourite genres but most are very janky to speedrun.

So when one of those janky survival games put a giant clock directly in front of me, always counting down, telling me to hurry up i finally decided to just give it a go.

Have been putting an unreasonable amount of time into the game, recording runs for over a month now and dealing with my crappy upload speeds.

It has been a lot of fun actually and yesterday my game request was approved!

Now i am trying to convince people to grab some runs and grab some world records.

Wanted to say hi and maybe spread the word about Icarus.

It is an "open world", survival, mission runner where you have only a few real world days to finish a mission and the world resets every time you leave the planet. (It's weird as hell for a survival game)
