United StatesI've been getting back into speedrunning and I set up a new layout and tried the sound effects add-on to play a song when I PB (about 3 mins), but its not working when i test it. It works when I use a 5 second sound effect but not for this one song, and the song plays fine in my player. Any help?
With some help I've figured out the minimum amount of captures to get all 80 Moons is 14 captures
- 1 for goomba stack moon in Sand Kingdom
- 1 to capture a bullet bill to break the cage in Sand Kingdom
- 3 to capture the hand 3 times to defeat the Sand Kingdom Boss
- 1 to capture the tank in Wooded Kingdom to shoot the targets
- 3 to capture 3 thwomps to kill bowser in Bowsers Kingdom
- 1 for goomba stack moon in DARK Sand Kingdom
- 3 to capture the hand 3 times to defeat the DARK Sand Kingdom Boss
- 1 to capture the tank in DARK Wooded Kingdom to shoot the targets Scarecrows DO NOT count as captures cause you don't transform into them.
With all this said, is it possible to create a minimum captures category where you get all 80 moons in only 14 captures?

i am wanting to speedrun 80 star, and heard 1.0 is the fastest version. can anyone provide me where i can download the 1.0 rom?
Let's say I'm an expert at coding (I'm not) and want to make an 3DS emulator for speedrunning, what things would have to be in the EMU in order for mods for other 3DS games to think it can be used for speedrunning (like accurate framerate, option to install cheats for selected game, etc)
I know that hard reset is Ctrl + R, But I can't figure out how to soft reset. People told me to hold A B Start Select, but it's not working. Can anybody help?
Hey so I found this leaderboard just today and realized I have a WR in a few courses. Could I take a photo of my best time and verify it without video proof?
P.S. I don't have a 3DS Capture Card
Maybe we should separate Party Mode and Classic Mode. It's not really fair for the top players to have a sub 1 because they are in party mode.
I have an idea for the leaderboards. Instead of listening to nothing while looking, we listen to something (a song) while looking. I would like to hear your opinions on this.
i just got a 1:00:08 in sm64: 70 star. but when i saved it, it now says a 1:02:30. but when i edit it, it still says 1:00:08 and the "average" is a 1:02:30. is there a way to remove the "average" on livesplit? it confuses me alot
So, I just became a mod for Super Mario Odyssey 64. I want to put an PNG image for the "1st" spot. But when I do, it autocorrects to a gold star (or the image gets put in the "4th" spot). If your a mod for a game, please help me. Thanks.
I have a sucky recorder that makes my runs terrible and will never be submitted. But when I look on the leaderboards a couple people have a submitted run WITHOUT video proof. Can someone tell me how they do that?

pj64 v1.6 detects every controller input except c-down. i know its not the controller since i used 2.3 and it worked perfectly fine and i even calibrated it and the computer detected c-down. can someone help or is there another version of project 64 that speedrun.com accepts.
Whenever i record a run WITH livesplit, the recording is really laggy. But if I have just the game, the recording is just fine. Is there another stopwatch out there that wont cause too much lag or is there a way to get livesplit lag-free? HELLLLLLPPPP
