Hmm, good point. I will discuss it with the other mods
Could be. Out of curiosity, what games would you consider 1,2 and 3? I know there's a mix of NG black, sigma, 2 and 3, razor's edge etc out there
Rules are updated for any%. Please feel free to point out if more stuff needs to be added
So I've been going through the rules for all three NG NES games and both NG2 and 3 similar rules. What do you guys think about implementing the same ruleset for NG1 as well?
I was thinking of pretty much copy-pasting the rules from NG3 to the NG1 leaderboard with a few minor tweaks.
"- Emulators such as FCUEX 2.2.2 or newer are encouraged.
- Reset/power on from the previous run must be included in your run submission video.
- Specify the emulator used in the run and its version in the comments.
- If your run is faster than 13:30 you will be required to have a frame counter clearly showing "no movie" and a display of input.
Banned emulator(s):
- Gotvg"
The 13:30 time requirement could be changed to apply to sub 12 runs or whatever. Ideas/Suggestions/Thoughts?
And it's done. Deleted the console/emulator separation and updated the rules slightly. Please give feedback if there is anything you want to add/remove/change.

Alright, so, to merge the leaderboards again I would suggest doing what's been suggested in previous posts:
- Make some kind of list for approved emulators
- Require runners faster than 13:30(?) or so to use Frame counter with (no movie) displaying and input display.
- Ban gotvg (already banned in the rules)
I would not really divide controller/keyboard because if it's more of an emulator issue than keyboard, then I see no point in doing that. Plus it's impossible to prove what controller was used during a run anyway.
I did a double check on ohon's videos. It looks like they are still there actually (unless someone re-added them today). It looks to me like the videos aren't showing up until you "Load unsafe scripts" in your browser. The icon is to the top right for me on Chrome.
Right now I'm leaning towards a category separation just because of the potential advantages you can get from emulator runs and it's impossible to know what kind of controller the runner is using (that might give him that advantage)
I suggest doing it like they have on the SM64 leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/sm64 (I think emu is a subcategory)
Hey, sorry. Didn't see this thread until now.
Sword only (J) is now added as a misc category. https://www.speedrun.com/ng3nes#Sword_Only_J
I do not really run NG3, but here's my opinion: If keyboard has an advantage over the brick/dogbone then I agree that there should be a separate category.
Although I'm not really sure how we would verify whether a run was done with or without keyboard. How would it be enforced in that case? Should a category separation be made with console/emulator instead perhaps?
Requesting to set https://www.speedrun.com/multing as a "Multi-game" game type.
I don't see a problem with it. If no one has any complaints I'll add it
