Since it runs in real time, just boot the game back up and start over on that mission. You'll lose time due to the crash obviously, but better than having to start all the way over.
When submitting an IL that was in a Full Game run, please timestamp the submission link. For example, on YouTube you would hit the share button under the video and checkmark the box that says "Start at X:XX".
Hi there!
Some buddies and I were thinking of running this game and noticed that you have to remove loads manually for you submission. Has no one tried to make an autosplitter / load remover for this game? I've made a handful for other games / communities so if we decide to run this I could try to make one if someone isn't already working on it.
Thanks, -Auddy
The fps makes a big difference for igt, that's why they are separate.
The new autosplitter asl file should be good now and I have created a new link in the resources section for the zip. Please download the new zip for the corrected Hookman files.
Edit: I have confirmed that the files work on both my machine and LanceLM's machine.
To be as fair as possible, let me fix the autosplitter first and then try again. If I make exceptions for one person it will open up a can of worms. This is my fault anyways for not fully testing after the new route was discovered. I take full responsilbilty for this. I know it's frustrating to get a good run and have it not count and I apologize for this. I will have the autosplitter fixed in a day or two at most.
Also, this should only affect the Hookman category, the others should work just fine.
I am not saying anyone is cheating, but I have looked at all the runs and yes, his definitely does not split and pause like everyone else's does. The thing that makes me believe these are manual splits are the is the way the timer unpauses after the "door load" halfway through the run. It should start back up before you see Leon and his is always right when you see him, leading me to believe he is pausing and unpausing himself.
If you are reading this Naykrum, I am not out to get you specifically, I have also removed runs from other runners that manually split or didn't use the splits and just the timer on the screen. I believe you are a very skilled runner and I hope to see you take the records in all the categories again using the correct methods while having all the provided splits on screen, as well as the other runners I had to unfortunately reject runs for. If for some reason your game loads the autosplitter differently than all the others that would be very interesting. Having said that, I would rather reject a run that is suspect and have the runner prove that their runs are legit than leave an illegitimate run on the board. Nothing personal, just doing what is fair and just for everyone.
Edit: Naykrum messaged me and I think he has quit running the game now. We have lost a skilled runner for the game, which is a shame. I think he could have pushed this game to be dead if he wanted while using the correct methods.
I am looking into the autosplitter and will fix the issues. Also please check my statement in the "Autosplitter" sticky thread. Thank you.
I will be rejecting all runs from any runner that don't use the splits provided in the resource section. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
07/14/2020 I've noticed some posts about the autosplitter not working on certain categories. I will look into this and see what is going on.
Also, any run that DOES NOT use the splits provided are going to be removed. If you only use the timer with no splits on the screen we cannot confirm you are using the autosplitter and you could be manipulating your timer to get a faster time. I have had a few complaints recently both from myself to runners on submissions and from runners seeing others do this (places like the timer not pausing correctly on the door load and on the final split). The resources are there for a reason and cheating won't be tolerated.
I literally can't figure out where I lose time besides the 4 dig chest. Probably done with this cat.
I have a question about lyran's run. Does just getting to the edge of the map like he did count toward losing control? You can't really see when the ship start the cutscene because of it. If so, theoretically could I shoot myself out of a canon to the end and that count or?
I made a logo for you guys to use https://imgur.com/a/FTmpR4u
Do we need to run it again or just retime the current runs?
Retiming mine I get a 8:56.312 Retiming lyran's I get a 9:14.813
Edit: Never mind, it takes 6 shovels to dig up the chest now instead of 4. So yeah, run it again is the option.
I tried for a little bit to create one, but finding the IGT was a bit tricky for this game. There were several addresses that seemed to be the IGT every time I searched, but none of them were consistently the IGT, and it seemed like the IGT address was different for each campaign or something. It's been a year since I tried so I don't remember everything about it haha :P
Edit: Actually, here's a question I need answered. Do we know if the IGT stops when we pause in the this game or does it keep going? If I knew that it would help me find the IGT much easier. Thanks!
Unfortunately I've only played the Xbox and PS3 versions. Hopefully a PS4 guy can answer your question. Sorry bout that :(
Gotcha, well I'll check into it while I'm trying to make the autosplitter and see what happens. Thanks for the quick responses dudeski :P
Ok, so the same thing as RE5. In RE5, we just have a rule that if you die the run is over. So that seems fair still. I'm talking bugged as in Jet Set Radio Future, where the timer is off by like 10 minutes at the end of the run. If it's just death abuse then that's a peace of cake, just don't die ;)
Hi there!
Bout to start doing Coop runs and we were wondering why the In Game Timer isn't used on full runs but is on IL's? Is there something bugged about it (aka it isn't accurate)? I'm going to look into making an autosplitter for the game and I've always preached using IGT in games that offer an accurate timer, as using Real Time (especially for PC heavy games) are not great imo (as loads and unnecessary screens get in the way).
Thanks! :)
