Thanks for the responses folks! Working on getting the tech setup going (have been on NES emulator so far). After that will probably go through it casually on stream and see how I feel. Gotta get a copy of the game first though. I seem to have lost the disc case that had all my PS1 games in it :( :( :(

Zelda 1 runner here considering taking a stab at a 3D game for the first time and nostalgia has me thinking Ape Escape. For those of you who run the game, would anybody have any suggestions for a good category with which to start? I was thinking of possibly starting with All Monkeys - No IJ then if I like it moving trying out an IJ category but would love to hear suggestions if ya gottem.

When I originally created the new categories for this game, I wanted to give as many people with existing run a chance to submit with consideration for as many start-points and rule-sets as possible. However, as it has been around two years now and I am the only runner with a submitted run in the solo warpless category, I will be removing the category from the boards as I feel it is too similar to 100% and is a bit redundant to have around with only 1 time.

@EightbitSteve I verified your run but edited the time. Per the time guidelines, your run was 10:17, not 10:25 :)

Completely up to you Steve. I will say that I made a comment on his video on YouTube a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything back.

Hello all,

I just wanted to make a couple of quick announcements.

First, as I and several others had expressed interest on this forum dating back up to a year ago for various moderation activities such as run verification, new categories, etc, to not much avail, I requested help from the site admins who decided to give me moderator status for the game.

Over the next few days, I will be working on creating a few new categories for Trog! based directly on requests from these forums. The 4 categories I am immediately planning to create are the following:

• Warpless (may choose expert)
• 100% (must choose easy, no warps)
• Co-op Any% (any difficulty)
• Co-op 100% (must choose easy, no warps)

I have thought about making 3 co-op categories for any% just like the single-player categories, but in the interest of hopefully seeing some interest and competition, I am concerned about adding TOO MANY categories for a game that has a very small following as it is. However, I'm open to any feedback on this.

Hello. I made a request for moderation for this game around a month-or-so ago and you all helped with my name change on a currently posted run. However, I also mentioned requests for moderation from the game's forum and was told that, since the game had 2 active moderators I would need to reach out to them for my other moderation requests.

Since that time, the number of moderators for the game haa dropped from 2 to 1. I tried reaching out to the remaining mod, RantronBomb through his posted Discord which is either innaccurate or no longer exists, as well as through YouTube messages and have not received a response. I did not try Twitter because I do not have a Twitter account. I also submitted a run and have not heard back on that either. According to his profile, until yesterday RantronBomb had been offline for 22 days until yesterday when he apparently logged in at some point but I still have not heard anything regarding my run or any of the other inquiries for which I had reached out to him.

I have nothing againat him, but I know there are at least 3 people on the forums, not counting me, who have shown interest in submitting runs but can't with no moderation. Would it be possible to assist? Thanks!

I submitted a request for moderation in the forums, I want to start running this game again and I know another guy who may too.

Hello, I found out today that a YouTube vid I posted years ago was at some point submitted as the WR for the Easy Difficulty. I tried to make a request for moderation in regard to changing the video from my YouTube channel name to my current Speedrun.com account name, but it appears the mods have never answered any forum requests in the past year, which is unfortunate, as I would like to get back into running other categories of this game.
