So there are gameplay differences between Snes and Arranged, so they're separated. There are also, more significant, gameplay differences between all stages and no doppler skip, but they're merged.
Why?
Also, comparing getting the saber in a run to not getting the saber in a run and putting them in the same category is nothing short of retardation. Theyre different runs. This is SNES any%, but just done on the arranged version. There's no reason to treat it any differently.
At this point, I feel like we should just have a Mega Man X3 Arranged board entirely separate from you guys, since all of you seem to hate it and hate anything to do with it because I like that version.
How is me doing a speedrun trying to "stir the pot"? I don't understand. You do a speedrun, it's fine. I do it, it's not. Mind explaining?
Personally, I think that if the MMX oldboy clique wants to be in charge, they should do the work related to it.
Yeah, looks like this will be exactly the same as before, but now all the big boys are in charge. Seems to be just a ploy for powergrabbing lmao. But either way as long as nothing is stupid I don't care, I just want a place to submit speedruns.
I can guarantee you this will be as unstable or less stable, as hetfield will not allow misc categories and will purposefully deny runs that he doesn't like the author of. Also, I would rather not make an account and/or login to my old one to submit times to a website I don't like.
I like the claim that Crisco is "powertripping" when everyone else is screaming and crying about getting mod for themselves so that they can squat the boards for another few months or years like before, haha.
Crisco's trying to fix shit for real, and y'all don't want him to because you want to take credit for anything and everything without doing anything at all.
Why doesn't Luiz post here himself if he wants to be mod again?
Also, how is a faster version of the game "arbitrary" on a speedrun leaderboard?
The admins already know who I am, and I never said I wanted to moderate the boards. You're insulting me just to please your ego. Nothing more, hetfield.
Hetfield, you're acting very immature here. You bringing up personal attacks and insults to get your way. The point of the matter is that Crisco's relays, and me being banned on other website for no reason have nothing to do with this conversation. You're doing damage control for your friend LuizMiguel, who freaked out and called the mods of the game "Cancer" and "terrible people" for adding speedruns to a speedrun leaderboard. This is a false equivalence, and is nothing short of embarrassing.
I can mention how you speedrun "Suck My Dick or Die!" and talk about how you talk about auto-fellatio in chats and play games on emulators when no one takes emulator records seriously, but it's not relevant to this conversation, it's nothing more than your immaturity and fear getting in the way.
Also, Izrail made the leaderboard here, I had nothing to do with it. Also, there was no such thing as "Default Difficulty" when this was done.
Misc categories are misc categories, not main categories. You still have yet to prove you understand the difference between main and misc.
Again, to reiterate, the final point is that MMRTA is mostly consisted of elitists and cliquey oldboys that dislike anyone doing anything that they don't collectively agree with. That's why you guys are so quick to throw Laseki out of your clique, because he participates in our relays, has fun with the "outsiders" and talks to new runners. You guys can't stand that, so you thew him to the side of the road like trash, and should be embarrassed of yourselves. Laseki is a cool guy, and the way he's been treated for wanting to have mirrored leaderboards is disgusting.
I've been arguing with mega man speedrunners for years about this nonsense, and it's honestly boring at this point. Take your clique to your own website and leave it there. Leave us alone.
Please do not insult Crisco personally by attacking his "toxic relays". The relays have all been great, and have led me to making new friends in the MM/X community, that I've been avoiding for years because of the oldboy behavior you're exhibiting here, hetfield. The relay events have all been very professionally orchestrated, sponsored by a website with cash prizes, and supported by everyone in the MM/X community who isn't in the elitist oldboy clique.
Also, when have I ever "forced" changed on a community? Never. I've only suggested things. If you notice, I mod X6 and don't have XC be the only accepted category or anything libelous like that. I ask simply: Proof?
Also, you didn't address that there is nothing wrong with Misc categories. What's wrong with having fun in a game? Again, you don't own the game, you have no say in how people choose to play it.
Also, to zam, I don't care about competing with people for record times, I don't like the SNES version, the Arranged version plays and feels tremendously superior, and is also much faster. Why should I have to jump through hoops to play the fastest version of a speedgame? Also, thats what Misc means. Misc means its not a REAL category, it's a fun side one. Look what we have with X6, all the main, real, categories are listed up front, then the meme ones are in the misc section, that's what the misc section was designed for. That's its purpose. What's wrong with using a specialized function for its purpose?
What's wrong with extra categories? Anyone can run anything they want, what's wrong with having more categories for more diversification? Nothing. What's wrong with games like X6 and X7 where the boards are kept up with and up to date and accurate? Why should they be removed because of another game that happens to be in the series? They shouldn't. Why should LuizMiguel, someone who routinely says that he won't keep up the boards here, be modded here? He shouldn't.
Crisco is willing to moderate the boards on this site. If you don't like him, who cares? You already said you didn't want to use this site, why should you care who the person is that's doing the work that you're too lazy to do is?
The MM/X community is nothing short of elitist, all they want is to keep "power" amongst themselves and whenever anyone with any sort of contrary viewpoint comes along they immediately try to attack them and ostracize them. As someone who has been around since early 2013, I've seen this happen literally dozens of times. The "community leaders" for MM/X are mostly cliquey insiders who hate everyone else and want to insult and attack people for trying to help.
Point is: You do NOT own a copyright to Mega Man X3, you can NOT dictate how people play the game. If people want to play no doppler skip, let them. Why should I be forced to go and buy a SNES and MMX3 to play the same thing everyone else is playing? I shouldn't. I should be allowed to play on whatever version I want, however I want. If there is a big issue with comparisons, then separate them.
Also, no "rogue mod" added PS1 times to the SNES board. The rules on the SNES board were "Any%" which was not any%, since the PS1 version has a faster glitch, thus "Any% no doppler skip" would be the appropriate category name, so that's why runs were submitted and accepted there. Laseki was the one to do it.
There is no need to take any action here. Crisco has stated multiple times that all he wants to do is have accurate boards on both sites. That's it. If you don't want him to do it, then you do it. If you don't want to do it, then don't cry and complain. Simple as that.
In my opinion, if someone is willing to destroy a friendship over speedrun times then they are not a good friend, nor a good person. I know from personal experience, seeing as how they did the same thing with me. It sucks, but some people are just bad people and you're better off not associating with them.
As far as X1/X2, I'd love that. Would be willing to help out in any way I could, but it's more likely than not that the current mods are just going to squat the boards and leave them with no changes than promote people who would port and maintain things.
The MM/X community's distaste for this website is childish and immature. This site is more functional, more fair, and more easily accessible for the most amount of people. Push your elitism aside and let someone else do the work, it's not that hard.
There's absolutely no reason to be crying about speedrun.com in 2017. This nonsense has been going on for nearly 4 years now, and it's honestly laughable that the MM/X community is STILL, after all this time, as, if not more, childish than they were when this all started. Let crisco take over and port the board to a better site with a better interface, less drama, and more outreach, while you can all circlejerk over your memesite.
I don't really know how any of that works unfortunately.
