Hello, I tried to get a board for mega man x collection several times and keep getting denied with similar reasons to this:
OK, so I, and several other people want to make this board. There's one person who "moderates" a similar section on the mega man site, with no interest in talking to the community or making categories for it. There is no "jumping over moderators", it's literally one person who is in that slot as a placeholder who, as I said, has nothing to do with running the stuff I am suggesting. However, I, along with at least 3 other people want to make a board for this and we really really dont want to use google docs. There's literally no possibility of any sort of "drama" out of making an x collection board. I thought I explained it well in my submission, but I suppose not. Keep in mind, as I wrote in my submission, this is a board for the game "Mega Man X Collection" and used for full series runs, not to house individual runs of individual games. Those have their own sections already.
Something like Completing the Gallery is not possible to house anywhere else, it's an optional feature in MMXC that requires several goals to be met in all the various games in the collection, which is the idea that re-sparked the interest for this board to be made.
To put it simply: -Pros- Board for runners to run and enjoy speedrunning and ranking competitive times No drama and no jumping through hoops for someone who is not a part of the community's approval Board moderated by actual runners of the proposed categories No obtuse google doc needed and all runs can be housed on srcom profile
-Cons- Someone who has no interest in doing anything related to this might be slightly unhappy
Now, why can't this board be added? Do I need to clarify anything else?
what are "visits"? It's an IL, you load it up and do the goal. It's not a sum of best segments board. You'd obviously load it up with the hook unlocked.
Early August would be my ideal slot.
reminder the only category that makes sense for levels is all tokens and max%
by the way, nice max% time for alleys https://www.speedrun.com/toys2/Alleys_and_Gullies#Max2
Little late here, but is there a way to just see total in game time after a run is over? I do my runs from a fresh file with no profile loaded so if there's like a total time played thing we can just use that, but adding up time in levels and foregoing skipping the intermissions seems silly i thats the only way it can work. I haven't played in a while and my system's not hooked up in a reasonable way so I can't really check at the moment, so get back to me.
I agree that ILs should use the in game timer, as there is no advantage to skipping that screen in an IL run anyways.
Also, under no circumstances are we going to separate categories based on load times. I'm just going to dispel that fantasy up front right here and now. :)
why wouldnt it work with time trial?
Add this tbh
Could you maybe make the IL board not have a scroll bar by default and instead stretch to the resolution of the screen? Assuming there's tons of categories, the scroll bar makes things look really ugly, especially considering all the blank space on the sides.
currently adding in hundreds of my Doom IL runs so that I can be #1.
:)
I'll be down as long as its not in canada pretty much.
lol peter doesnt know anything. DMC3 is notoriously shit to run on setups, so not testing it was Pvt's fault imo. Not that it matters much, it all worked out, but still.
Al rite fellas, time for my feedback. Brobuzz and Lurk's posts pretty much sum up a lot of what I think very nicely, so I'll just add in some stuff:
First of all, the actual physical event was fantastic. Couldn't ask for anything better, really. Chill, no stream monsters, all cool people, fun shit all around. I enjoyed pretty much every moment I was there.
As for the stream, tech issues were really shit, but what's already been said is what's important. Lots of miscommunication and unfortunate circumstances lead to it, it'll definitely be better, if not perfect next time, I'm sure.
As far as the schedule goes, we had setup buffers, they were actually used, if we didn't have those then we'd still be at the hotel hehehe
Anyway, NASA was amazing, compared to AGDQ16, which was my only other experience, it was well worth the investment, and I hope we can organize some smaller NASA meetups, and have a great main marathon next year!
