@TwoWorldsCoexisting, You know I quit soda last year, and I've noticed a decline in my speedrunning skills... Glad to have come clean, but I think I may need to remove my older runs.
What Zewing describes is one of the main reasons that the megamanleaderboards site is bad. It's too "set in stone" with older community members who refuse to implement changes or improvements for the most part, and just want to funnel all traffic to their board of control, whereas with this site, if someone gets out of hand there's the capabilities of getting an unbiased administrator in to fix things.
ive done it before, and you can look for runs on the dsda http://doomedsda.us/
Honestly, I do think people have done drugs to gain an advantage in their runs in the past. I'm not sure where to go about exposing them, doctorwoot, do you have any suggestions?
OK, let's talk about the route to get every achievement in the game in a single run and the minimum amount of playthroughs and what you'd need to do and where to get what exactly (Ie. psycho kills, what survivors, etc)
I made it a subcat instead since it's really not possible to compare either method of play and New Game the default since it has more runs. If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to post here.
100% should just have all livestreamed parts of the "run" be saved, too, but ok.
I did that^
Now, I think variable to distinguish between load game and new game would be the best idea, but not subcategorize since its pretty much just cutscenes and not any actual gameplay I suppose. I say we shouldn't allow skipping directly to the fights, but just starting each chapter with fights from beginning.
Would everyone be in favor of this?
Also, i notice that some runs dont follow the same timing rules, so i propose we end it on "battle results" and i can retime all the runs myself if thats cool.
Would rather wait until more input, but I think a sub-cat or variable might be good to distinguish.
For Story mode runs, TrueStorySeamus used a loaded game and just did the required fight chapters in order to beat the game. From what I've gathered I've seen that the older runs started from a completely new game file for runs, which involve skipping many more cutscenes.
Should we limit the run to new game, or allow loaded game? I mean, it's already allowed, but if anyone has anything to say about it, let me know.
Alright, well I suppose since no one is opposed, then the run should be deleted?
Good talk, fellas. :)
ok, but now back to the topic originally at hand.
OK, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say that using a TV remote in any% should not be allowed and I literally have no idea why it ever was "allowed" to begin with.
Discuss.
Isn't FF9 a multi-disc game, though? So banning opening the disc tray would be an arbitrary restriction anyways.
Can someone tell me how to use cheat engine or whatever to get the items? Is there some documentation on that anywhere?
@Gcah2006, my "version" of any% uses in-game features and console features as they were programmed to be used, without modification. This is objectively within the boundaries of speedrunning, and is not debatable.

I used to moderate the original google document back in early 2013 with no drama and no issues whatsoever. All I did was add runs and do things that people wanted me to do. Nowadays people only care about "status" when it comes to being a moderator and the original purpose of the job has been diluted in fields of drama and arguments. I log on to speedrun.com every day, and usually check it every 10 minutes or so when on the computer, so I'm nothing but very active in the community, and I have a lot of time available to check and verify runs. If anyone is "qualified" for the job of moderator, I'm sure I would fit the bill. :)
