I was hoping you were wrong, but nope. It also render the hand glitch useless on day 12, but it saves around 10 sec, so it is a really good find.
Just a question, the outlaws total that you got (28 and 27), what it through testing or by checking the script? I redid some of the tests and the most I could have (excluding doing the monastery rescue and Marian rescue via the maze) was 24 by doing Much plan on Day 11.
31 at the start, 27 after rescuing the three brothers (any% strat), 25 after Marian rescue (Will plan - 3 death and Marian rescued) and 24 after the coffer run (Much plan - 1) or 22 (Tuck plan - 2). Others plans resulted in more outlaws killed.
The strange part is that I got different results on a run with less outlaws on certain days (got it catalogued in my gdoc), so maybe it change depending on a rng factor or there is a bug in the script?
The idea that I had for best ending was simply to get the earldom ending. Since there is only 4 endings (death, pardon, forester and earl), the rules I had in mind was the sames as any%, but you must reach the earl ending and show the cinematic.
Considering the different endings categories, I did several test this week (Dethwing can confirm) and made a route I quite like for any% best ending ( ) and would be interested to make it an official time.
Also Dethwing, I tried the money and ring route for Any% and it works really well.
I have not tested everything for time reasons and the fact that I was only interested in the best ending, but from what I tested, the endings are a combination of money gained and how nice you are or not.
As of now, to get the best ending, just save everybody on the road and be nice to the beggar and jeweller as well as amass the max amount of money being 65300 (I think). Doing should give the best ending while still cutting a significant portion of the game compared to 100%. Of course, this is a really rough sketch, but this is what I am currently testing when not learning any% (which the new engine is proving a challenge at the pixie section :P ).
At first, I wanted to check if the point counts was influencing anything as the manual is not clear on what influence the endings, but it does not seems to influence anything, but further testing will be required once I am sure of how to trigger each endings.
Thnx for the post. I was also curious why my version seemed to run slower than yours. Also, concerning the possible outcomes, I already did some checks if you are interested as I wanted to do something akin to Any% Best Ending someday.
