It's essentially just a matter of shoving your face into it far enough to get the clip. It's very much not an exact science at least to me, other people might have more experience, all I can say is that it's something that you'll get a feel for over time. Sorry can't be more helpful.

You're right it looks like that did get patched, I'll go try beat my time. Thanks for letting me know.

As for runs being maintained, it's kinda difficult for the mod team to keep up with patches and if stuff that's been patched is present in each run, given the length of the runs, not that I'm part of the mod team, but I'd suggest runs being maintained is done on a when case by case basis when it's brought up to the mods attention?

So I heard that the world record holder said some pretty nasty things about incels and got political about it in someone's twitch chat, and the MMX moderators took offence to that and removed his name, and his video proof from the leaderboard.

Tried running any% the other day. Had a strange glitch happen where I couldn't enter the boss portal for Komodo Brothers, anyone know what caused it & how I can avoid it in future? Twitch highlight evidence:

I'd like to see this happen too. I'm not sure why there couldn't be a emulator only category like other games do tbh. It definitely lowers the barrier into running this game.

Uhh, yes. It's still possible but it's not as fast, also there's new methods if you check some of the new source port runs.

Alright I'm gonna be epic and submit a run moving during the cutscene =) I'll also upload some 'speedrun legal' runs but I just wanna make a run moving during the cutscene.

Greater Manchester, EnglandAirnathan1197 years ago

Firstly, the moving during cutscene thing was in the first game, it's an intentional mechanic. It's not gonna get patched out. I'm 99% sure on that. Secondly, negating runs with patches is a moot point anyway thanks to the hero power changes in 1.0.5 and various buffs, various runs have very likely been negated. Finally, timing from as soon as the cutscene starts is perfectly valid, load times don't affect that and it's all dependent on the player from then on. Not sure why you're trying to compare to when the timer ends, you still have character control until fadeout. As things stand right now, how you start and how you end is inconsistent as you could have character control at the start but you choose not to? Just confusing as things stand, imho. If you can't move blindly with having basic map knowledge, I don't know what to say... It's not like it's hard to do.

This rule is dumb in my opinion. Defend your reasoning for this.

As the fastest and only any% runner, I'm backing that up.

That would be any%, which is already available on the leaderboard.

Stick with VC or PC emulation for MMX2, as it's easier to record from at the very least. I don't know if there's any differences for the 3DS version, but you'll probably notice if you were to actually try it out.

Awesome, having somewhere to put my times might end up getting me to run X3 as well, maybe when I get acceptable times in X1/X2 first though.

I also find I'm struggling to find the mouselook settings with original keybinds enabled. This is all on Enhanced edition by the way.

I was looking into speedrunning this game and noticed that the WR has a method of putting in door codes without using the mouse, however I seem to be unable to find this method. Do I need to edit controls.cfg for this, and how do I do this or is there a downloadable file I need to locate?
