What is the defacto "default" run considered?

Character and difficulty?

Just wondering if there is a set cycle or something.

I found this on the SNES version, not sure about the others.

I find that if you wiggle the directional pad really quickly it will impact turbo usage/recharge. If you are low on turbo just wiggle left/right really fast and you will see it fill up quickly.
