Is the Super Mario Bros. on the wii game all stars the same as the actual original game?

The rules in the individual level speedrun says, no bosses, any ability can be brought into the first level. What does it mean by no bosses?

Who else agrees that it would be nice to have a "no bikes" catagory because it's annoying to have to wheelie all the time
