Tech Guide

Keep in mind the strategies listed below abuses bugs or oversights, this guide is not intended for glitchless runs.

Key Skips

By grabbing the key from The Tutorial and returning to hub instead of using it at the end door, it allows you to use one less key on the final door, so you can skip the entirety of Stage 4. You can also return to hub after grabbing the key on Stage 3 to skip half of the level.

Double Jump

If you press spacebar twice in succession while on the ground, you jump twice, letting you jump up to roughly three tiles high when executed right. (Found by squirley)

Air Jump

Very very rarely, the game will let you jump in the air, even if you already used your jump. Not sure why this happens, but figuring out why it happens and how to consistently reproduce it would be huge.

Woolly Jump

If you dash when you're on the ground then press space at the end of your dash, you'll jump even in the air. When doing it against a wall, if the peak of your jump is close enough to the surfaces y level, you sometimes snap onto it. This doesn't seem to be very useful now, but might be in the future.

Lux Jump

You can pause the game and press space bar to resume which also causes your character to jump. As soon as you unpause, you immediately pause again and repeat the process to jump in the air repeatedly, little by little. Usually you can use this to get 4 or 5 blocks high, maybe even higher, but there is a limit, as with each jump the player's velocity still decreases a little, and when it gets too low it stops working. As of right now this it's not very consistent or realistic to perform in a run, as its very precise and won't result in any known time saves, but it does have potential.

Wall Jump

Its possible to wall jump without a woolly, it only happened to me twice and I don't know the cause. Could've been a random air jump next to a wall or it could've been some subpixel stuff, I don't know.

Ice Skips

In the first ice section you can break the ice by double jumping against the ice machine tile, and dashing when you're next to the lower half, be careful to land on the ice platform. There are many other ways of breaking this ice this but this one's the fastest and the most consistent. In the second ice section you can simply dash into the wall behind the frost. In the third ice section do the same thing as the first one but without the double jump.

Wrong Warps

If you interact with a door but go out of the doors hitbox (usually due to the momentum from dashing), the game won't know where to send you, so it'll instead send you to the start of the stage or wherever your last checkpoint is. This has no use now but if someone figures out how to trick the game into going behind a locked door's hitbox, assuming it exists, it'd be possible to wrong warp to the end level.

Softlocking

Also if you return to hub when you're dead you'll warp to an unplayable Hub where you fall forever off screen. Returning to main menu and continuing will do the same thing but in the jungle section. This is useless but I thought it was cool.
