Bunnyhopping
Continuous running and jumping is the fastest way to get forward.
20 HP Load Bug
- Save the game (if autosave is on, it saves automatically after every segment / room. Otherwise use a typewriter)
- Go to main menu and load
- You will always get 20 HP, and the framerate will be limited from 70FPS to 60FPS, until you open and close your inventory or go to the next level.
This might be helpful if you want to heal fast, when you are under 20 HP.
Otherwise it is important to know, if you need to reload that you can drop from full HP to 20 HP.
Framerate Bugs
Here is an comparison between 70fps, 999fps and 2000fps, made with Hourglass:
- Main Menu: 90 FPS
- Intro: 40 FPS
- In-Game: 70 FPS
- Inventory: 60 FPS
- Text-Box: Uncapped
When displaying text or dialog the framerate will render as high as your PC can. And the higher the framerate the faster the textbox fades in.
With "Game Capture" like in OBS, the Framerate will drop noticeable on some computers and the game runs slower (FPS and logic-ticks are synced). This might be caused by the Hook-Rate and the re-initialized of the the game. Therefore, you should always record with window- or desktop-mode.
In addition, in "small screen" the text fades in even faster. The best way to display the small window larger is by lowering your resolution in Windows. The resolution of the game's window is 480x272. If you want maximum clarity you should always divide your monitors resolution by 2 or 4 (for example 1920x1080 / 2 = 960x540; 2560x1440 / 2 = 1280x720)
Crouch-Bug
Some enemies won't attack you, when you are crouching.
Door-Clipping
- Align your left feet with the center of the door while crouching and looking to the right
- When the door is closed look to the left and jump
- Now you are above the level
- Go and jump to the trigger box to get to the next room
If it doesn't work make sure you align correctly and consider using the Z key to look around.
Camera-Locking
- Press and hold the Z key + arrow keys to adjust the camera position
- While still holding the Z key, press the Space bar to open the inventory
- Release the Z key and close the inventory with the Space bar
- The camera position will be locked
- To unlock the camera you need to press the Z key again
In this state, not loaded enemies won't attack you and Van Claus will be easier, because he always try to go to the middle of the screen.
