Sniper Elite 4 any% Speedrun - xZeKo's Guide [OUTDATED]
Aggiornato 6 years ago di xZeKo

Welcome new and experienced Sniper Elite players and speed runners to my guide! I hope that you will find something useful towards speed running Sniper Elite 4.

While I have played Sniper Elite, V2, III and now 4 they keep getting better. I have been watching speed runs of games for many of years and after watching s1a1n1d1i's and uhTrance's runs, I thought I'd give it a go and what better way then speed running Sniper Elite 4.

There's only one category at the moment which is any%. This mean to start a brand new game and finish it as quickly as possible by all means.

Weapons I use and why:

Winchester 1895: Overall good weapon. Good damage, swappable suppressor, but lacks magazine size. Only reason I use it because the stability is better when sprinting.

Trench gun/MKB 42: I use the trench gun in levels 2 and 3, it packs a punch point blank when on the stairs near end of level 2 and the bridge on level 3 but useless on the other levels. MKB 42 I feel is a good rifle, I burst fire my shots, 30 round clip is pretty good and defeating the plane at the end is much better. Both do not suppress shots.

Webley VI/HDM: Webley is hands down a fantastic pistol. The damage output is insane it's a one hit wonder even from across the map. I use it for levels 1, 2 and 3 then switch to the HDM as it's an automatic and suppressed, while carries 4 more rounds then the Webley.

But use whatever weapons you feel are good, I am just giving you my opinion and weapons..

Tree skill which I use. (Complete the game first and level up to gain all access to the tree before you speed run!)

Rank 5: Increase Heart Rate. You can use either, seeing as I'm using the Winchester with the stability, I use increase heart rate.

Rank 10: Accelerate Binocular speed. For Rothbauer on Level 7 to give me a clear indicator of where he is behind that window.. Also this is a speed run your not going to choose the other and search for extra ammo on corpses??

Rank 15: Increase bandage healing. Well what can I say.. your going to need this a lot more then the reduced fall damage.

Rank 20: Reduce damage from explosions. Great for when shooting satchels. You are not going to defuse traps..

Rank 25: Slow speed at which heart-rate increases. Same as rank 5 really. you could go with one increase heart rate and stabilize, its your choice.

Rank 30: 3 of the same item selectable in Load out. This is a must. nothing else to say, you are going to need 3 bandages.

Other Items: 3 bandages, which will heal you is important. If you choose not to have these then good luck!

I chose 3 suppressed rifle ammo so that I didn't run out. My first runs had 2 suppressed ammo and a grenade, just in case.

But again, it's your choice whatever you feel comfortable speed running with.

General game play/speed section:

I'm calling this the general section because it applies to all levels and is part of the games engine.

The one thing good for this game is the hide feature which the player automatically enters when near a wall. But when speed running, it is a nightmare. As being near walls or object clips, you can sometimes enter the hide feature then have to scramble away from the wall and renter the sprint. Also if you hide in a corner, like at the bottom of stairs or corner railing and move the mouse to try get away you will often run the opposite direction.

Running downstairs also glitches out. funny if you see the graphical side, but a pain when speed running. Also scoping while on stairs is a pain because you can glitch out and your aiming somewhere completely different.

Killing soldiers/officers takes time so try and avoid aiming and killing unless you need to.

If your going to climb a pole, line the pole up with the player and not with the crosshairs. Same applies with ladders. You lose time with the game centering you onto them.

Level guides:

I'll give you tips and tricks but it's easier to learn the routes through mine or others speed run videos. I may, if I get time, produce an in depth video guide.

Level 1: San Celini

I prefer to shoot the soldier before climbing up second pole across the bridge at the beginning just round the corner, but it's probably the same time if you climb it and shoot him.

Keep left after you get round the corner from going down the stairs but if you get too close to edge you will fall off.

Schmidt will 98% of the time be in the building. If your alerted then that drops to 50% if your runs a bit late and alerted he will be outside.

RNG for the second officer.. he's either in or outside the building, haven't worked him out yet. (Sorry)

I prefer to go to the right of the tents at top of hill and jump over the left bit of fence because the right doesn't let you vault over..

Either drop down the poles or slide down then drop to next ramp then jump off.

If your run is quick the last officer is in the building if not he will be outside. Haven't had him elsewhere yet. (If he does I'll let you know)

Level 2: Bitanti Village

Not much with this level, if your alerted at the start, it doesn't carry on through the level because your going so quick.

I prefer to kill both guards before entering the door so that I'm not alerted when running to end. But it's quicker to skip past the soldiers both times.

The stairs are a pain, go up the first flight there should be someone behind barrels. Then up the stars through the door is a barrel to the left. I normally shoot that then kill the rest of them to the right then carry on up stairs there's normally two to the left. Just try get the satchel on the door and explode it as quick as possible.

Level 3: Regilino Viaduct

When going down the ladders at the beginning make sure you are looking towards the other ladders as you sometime climb back up them..

I shoot the first solider so it takes them longer to find me, take the second out after you drop down from stairs.

Running to the bridge I tend move more to the left so sniper on the bridge doesn't see me. If you use a suppressor on the solider just before entering bridge and without already been alerted, it should make the soldiers on the bridge better to deal with. The bridge soldiers are and can be anywhere, RNG plays a lot with what your current situation is before the bridge. I just go guns blazing.

Credit to uhTrance for this tip, after I placed the satchel and run off the bridge he uses a stabilized bandage and shot the satchel closer to the bridge saving time. But it does look harder without stabilizing. You shouldn't of needed to use more then 2 bandages before you come back off the bridge.

Level 4: Lorino Dockyard

Pretty straightforward, just learn the route first! Only two things RNG are where the first officer is and where both snipers are. Take the snipers out or it will make it a lot harder for yourself.

The last light I prefer to take out after I blow the last satchel up. (Turning around and shooting the satchels takes more time just add a fuse)

Before you blow the last artillery, you go up the stairs. Don't aim your scope as I have come across it glitches and points the scope in a totally different place and you sometimes fall off the stairs.

Level 5: Abrunza Monastery

This is one hell of an RNG level.. I try and make sure not to blow my cover before the castle and try to snipe them before they find you out, then when they do just go guns blazing. Try to kill the soldier with the flare as you will have to deal with more soldier coming in..

There is a glitch where the objective will not trigger even if you kill everyone in and around the castle. It is a proper pain but you have to cross back over the bridge and wait.

Climbing up the side of the building is slow, but if you try to fall down after you get the rosary beads to gain time then try not to die because it's very easy there.

Level 6: Magazzeno Facility

Ok, with this level I prefer to wait for the tank, then sprint past so my cover is not blown, because when going inside the building it will be a nightmare. So much easier just to wait for tank and snipe everyone inside.

Last part is just to try not to die, use bandages and good luck!

Level 7: Giovi Fiorini Mansion

Cross the bridge and kill the solider, I make sure the next two soldiers see me so that Rothbauer starts his sequence of cowarding behind the window.

Ok Rothbauer time.. I climb up first bit and then ladder as normal, then I use the binoculars as a fail-safe to see him. Use a stabilize bandage then scope in and by that time he usually re-positions himself against the window and shows he head. It's the biggest pain.. If you can't snipe him climb up and use the next ladder and cross 3/4 of the bridge and try to snipe him again.

The rest I try to use pistol and close head shots.

The sniper at the end has a tendency to not show in either window. I did try to run with a grenade and throw it in window. Don't know if he doesn't spawn properly or what but if you look at my speed run he falls out the window.. most unreliable enemy in the game. (if he does not appear, just shoot at the window)

Go nearer the fountain before you shoot the sniper then as soon as you kill the sniper the levels over.

Level 8: Allagra Fortress

Take the right all of the way up till you get to the hut, behind should be a jäger soldier and a normal. If you line them up you can get a double kill which will speed your run up but it is hard.

I prefer not to alert the soldiers outside because it make the beginning of the inside of the building more quicker.

My advice is to learn the route. There's loads of side rooms and tunnels and bridges but learn the route first so you do not get lost!!

All of the hydrogen peroxide tubes can be shot to make the run quicker.

Just try not to die when you get to the bridge where you kill the sniper, and good luck without dying. I normally use the MKB. The soldiers can be anywhere. The sniper can either be in front of you when you exit the door or just to the right near the stairs.

Sprint after you call in the bombers the two soldier cannot kill you unless your on very low health.

The last bit before the the plane don't sprint to the second soldier. They both will die automatically and if you get anywhere near the explosion, it will kill you.

Try and aim at the engines on the side your on. Burst fire on the engines and through the plane because I think the MKB rounds clip through the planes body and hit the engines on the other side.

Well that's it. Just over half hour and you should be done.

Hope this helps anyone who's wanting to speed run Sniper Elite 4 and good luck to you!

If you have any questions please ask and I'll do my best to answer them.
