People usually split when the screen is co pletely black after you have deposited the moons Also, splits dont invalidate the run, a run is valid as long as it has a video thats not spliced, cut out, etc and the game is played following the rules

You can check the IL rules for specific timing, but if you aren’t planning to submit ILs then your splits shouldn’t matter for verification purposes.
