i came up with another cool challenge if anybody is interested in. wrote notes and strats on the video which is just a TAS demonstrating how the challenge would look like. do you think it's a good idea?

sounds similar, except you can NEVER press B :)

You have to do a (I think) frame perfect wall jump on the last room in 8-4 to make it past the pit... which is what makes the category especially hard... since the hardest trick that you'll most likely fail is at the VERY end of the run.

Still cool TAS though :)

You don't need to press B in RTA at all to beat any% or even 1 warp category. It's just stupidly hard because of the last room in 8-4. Unfortunetly you need to press B once to beat warpless in RTA, because of one jump in 4-3.

Right, but it would be different and more difficult since you can't let go of B whenever you want, you have to hold it the entire time

Unless you do FPG, holding B only affects 8-4 WJ, the rest is the exact same, so it it basically regular any%, just you have to do 1 frame WJ in 8-4

It's only like regular any% for people with low 458 or mid/high 457, because it doesn't affect them in any way really. Everyone else that isn't going for those times, has better times, worse times will have more trouble because of this.
