I don't want to mod my Switch to be able to record video, and was wondering what the rules are regarding recording runs using a mobile phone pointed at the Switch's screen. Obviously the quality won't be as good, but I'm (unfortunately!) not looking at anything close to the top 300 spot for the SMB leaderboard – are phone recorded runs accepted? And if so, any particular requirements I'd need to meet?

Generally, if you want to capture video, you'd buy a capture card for your computer that you'd plug your Switch's HDMI cable into.

However, to directly answer your question, yes we will accept runs recorded with a webcam or phone as long as we can see the whole screen and the video is watchable.
