Would love this to be in the category extensions.

  1. Load a 70 star file. 2) Complete all 3 bowser stages. Edit: 25 dollars to the first person to do this live on twitch in less than 6 minutes and 15 seconds! (I forgot that the opening cutscene would not be involved in this run!)

Original Offer (no longer valid) 25 dollars to the first person to do this live on twitch stream in less than 7 minutes. (In hopes that people might like watching it and that it gets competitive)

25$? Is this legitimate?

Yea sure if you trust me. Is Sub 7 too easy?

Michigan, USA

Didn’t stream it but I just did it. Yeah it’s too easy lol. Took me 4 tries and I’m one of those dudes that gets really into 16 Star but does nothing else because it’s too hard.

Really you got sub 7??? I thought that would be a hard time to get for sure .. maybe i should edit this post

Edit: Just realized that there would be no opening cutscene so the 7 minute challenge is not as hard as i thought it might be :P

  1. like the idea, but not for money lol, speedrunning is about fun and competition, not a "job" :)

  2. post it in the CatExt forum rather than here in the orig.game forum, so youll get more constructive responses...

England

Lots of people do it for a job! I dont see anything wrong with bets being place, it motivates people. (:

Germany

0/1 is dumb already but 0 star glitchless is the worst DansGame

k, youre right...but see, why i meant, posting it over there? in this place youll ever only earn responses such as those above :D

@xein: im with you, i just like 100%, no other "nonsense" :p but what makes 16 better than 1? even 70 is sketchy for me^^

The "fun" of watching 0/1 star to me is the excitement of getting a good sblj (and other bljs) and being on a run and keeping it together for a pb. Personally, I don't watch it as much as other categories, but I can understand it. This idea takes out everything that makes the category interesting and you're left with something with not much content.

You throw attempt after attempt at ddd skip until you finally get it and then it's on you to not make mistakes in the bowser stages after that. You're nervous as fuck cause you don't know the next time you'll get a run to this point. If you're on a 70 star file the nerves won't be there cause the only thing you're playing for is $25, so it just seems like a boring watch.

yes, good explanation...i still dont like it, but can understand.

but xein: this doesnt answer my question :p you said "0/1 is dumb", but why do you like 16 then? its simply too short for me...of course its the same amount of concentration and skill as 120 (or even more), but i need "long" videos/runs :) i dont see MUCH difference between 16 and 1...so what do you determine as "less dumb" there?

Germany

0/1 star has a stupid trick in it. 16 is a great starter category but it gets shitty because you have to reset every time on blj's pretty much. 1 star is worse tho, It has worse tricks in it and a higher reset rate.

And the idea of 0 star glitchless is IMPOSSIBLE because you start on a 70 star file like regedit said.

run is shit, but sub 7 was streamed I am ironically doing this

Thanks for all the crazy feedback everyone and thanks for trying the run Jeremy :) While many of you think this category idea is dumb, I can see some value in a very short category that requires movement skills but no need to worry about pulling off the glitches. I will repost this in the category extension forum- as you have pointed out that thats a better place for it.

I cannot believe this thread has gone on for so long. If anyone needs an explanation on how dumb this idea is then it's already too late for them.

Replacing Expiring Twitch VODs

If you wish to replace your twitch highlights with reuploads, please edit your already verified run rather than deleting the verified run and making a new submission. This makes it a lot easier for us to track which submissions are reuploads and should be less work on your part as well.
