Can we add a subcategory that gives access to the blj mod like we would use the blj mod patch thing for mario 64 if that could be possible that would be cool to add the mario 64 any%runs as a subcategory for 3d allstars
I don't think that will happen, since the clear argument presented will be that if you want to play with BLJs, use the original Mario 64. Also, I don't think there are many categories in speedrunning as a whole that use a specific mod. The one thing that may happen is that a separate game will be created for the BLJ mod, but that seems excessive. Overall, I don't think it will happen and you should probably resign yourself to the fact that you'll have to get what you need to run the original Mario 64 if you want BLJs.
I'm not on the mod team, but I can almost 100% confirm that it would be a no. Few games (and to my knowledge, no switch games) have any categories that require the use of a mod to do, unless it's on a completely different leaderboard (e.g. Portal 2 Speedrun Mod). People would also need to mod their switch, which isn't the best thing to do for those that use it for other things, if they want to do all categories. Basically, if it requires modified hardware or software to do, it won't be on a main leaderboard like this.
There should be category extensions in this leaderboard such as there are ones in the individual games respectively.
there's an argument to be made for the originals to allow 3das in extensions though
