Since there are people actually running the 100%/All Items route, I'm gonna spend the next couple of days deciding what specifically is required for that run (All photos, all paintings, etc.) and touch up the rules to clarify that. As it stands right now, I'm leaning towards all the variations of the paintings that Dallas can make for Mirphy aren't necessary, but all photos are and both versions of the pickl jar are (Meaning you have to get Gillis to open the jar for you rather than just breaking the jar against Randy's head)
Feel free to let me know how you feel, and despite how the rules may change both runs submitted prior to these changes (one hasn't been verified yet) should be grandfathered in with no trouble
I feel like as long as it's obtainable in the same run it should be fine for 100%. It may be a situation like The Outer Worlds where one quest is unobtainable if you take another and so their all quests is instead Max Quests.
Can you both open the jar and then smash it or do you have to quit out and return? I've personally not tried.
Normally completionist categories count whatever contributes to an in game 100% counter but in lieu of that it's really up to us to determine what's appropriate. Perhaps reaching out to the devs to patch one in if they're not too busy with their new game?
There's no way to do both with the pickl jar, if you open the jar then just holding it out to Randy does the same thing that smashing it would do, so I don't think it's possible to do both in the same run. That said, you do make a good point about "If it's all possible in the same run, it should be fine for 100%" so maybe all paintings should be required, with some testing there's only 5 paintings you can give than the Unremarkable Painting that she actually likes.
I've rejected the two runs in 100% since the rules had already said "get every item in the game" but I'll be clarifying the rules now to explictly say that all photos and paintings are required
