Intro
This category uses an SRM and precise memory manipulation to beat the game in under an hour or just over an hour depending on your choice of route and uses some of the most precise tricks in the game with the lowest consistency out of most tricks.
Hardware Requirements
For any% you will need to use a v1.0 copy of the game, see version guide for specific details. If you are able to run this game well on emulator it is highly recommended that you learn this run using emulator due to you being able to use tools to make it much easier to practice the memory manipulation and allows you to know if the memory manipulation worked without having to do the full swim each time.

Overall Glitch and Route Overview
Every map in the game is actually on one giant map with the area separating the different main maps being referred to as the void for this guide. By air swimming we should be able to swim between different maps as they are on the same map, we want to air swim from Ice Mountain to the 5th Krazoa Shrine as collecting K5 is what triggers the games end sequence. However, if we leave the confines of any main map and enter the void, the game will immediately soft lock us.
In order to freely airswim in the void we need the game to think we are riding an object such as the bike or a mammoth as the void wont softlock you if you are riding them. We can use the dismount glitch to be able to play as Fox while the game still thinks we’re riding them by starting a cutscene such as collecting a fuel cell or feeding Tricky. Once we do, we can freely air swim to anywhere in the game. See #21 Void Travel for more in depth details.
There are some issues to get around before we can actually play in these areas like normal. While in the dismount state Fox is not able to hit any triggers, only the object the game thinks he’s riding can, but this object is typically deloaded back where you first did dismount glitch and is unable to reach the area you are at anyway due to the bike still being affected by gravity during the air swim. Secondly the areas we arrive at are in a deloaded state similar to doing memory leak meaning Fox is unable to interact with anything, most importantly he cannot start the test of knowledge without the game crashing. We need a way to hit a checkpoint to respawn in this area which allows it to load properly, but only the mount can hit the checkpoint triggers. To hit triggers, we need to the mount coordinates to intercept the trigger. Since the mount is unloaded once you leave the map and start air swimming, you are able to get a new object or data to load in its place and the game will treat the data that replaced the mount coordinates as its new coordinates. By manipulating the memory, we can get random data or an object to replace the coordinates with values that will hit the trigger giving us the checkpoint to respawn at, we can then either die or if it happens to be an esw trigger we can esw a different file to that area.
There is more to consider for the run as a whole, but that covers the core concept of the run, void travelling to the end of the game.
For any% you play through the game as normal until you arrive at IM. You open the bike race cave door, do Gate/Damage Clip to get out of bounds by having the cannon hit you while holding a barrel to have you drop the barrel onto yourself to push you and clip you oob. Do Seam Drop which requires extremely precise position and angle to land on a specific pixel out of bounds to get above the cave and drop into the cave to trigger Bike Flag Glitch to allow us to drive the bike around freely. Get a fuel cell to dismount the bike, get air swim and swim to K5 shrine, fire the fire blaster to have the fire blast shots replace the mount object in memory, then since the fire blast shot went through the trigger the game will give us the checkpoint and allow us to die and respawn in K5 to collect the 5th Krazoa Spirit.

- Gate/Damage Clip - To get oob in IM
- Seam Drop - To get into the cave to do Bike Flag Glitch
- K5E - Memory manipulation and void travelling to K5
- WC Escape - To escape WC after the game glitches since you dont have Tricky
Routes
This category has 3 routes each with a significant difference in difficulty in regard to the 3 major tricks: Seam Drop, K5E and WC Escape.
2 File Route - This route allows you to skip doing WC Escape entirely. WC Escape has to be done back to back after K5E and failing it requires you to redo the whole of K5E, so being able to skip WC Escape makes the route significantly easier since WC Escape is also relatively difficult. This route uses a second file and plays through the game up to Dark Ice Mines before doing K5E rather than doing it immediately after first reaching IM. This route is significantly easier and safer and is 20 minutes slower.
Normal Route - This route does WC Escape after K5E making it more difficult but allows the game to be beaten in under an hour and can at best get a 52 minute time.
TK5E - This route doesn’t open the cave door or watch the bike cutscene but has to do Gate Clip and Seam Drop during the memory manipulation meaning you have to hit all 3 big tricks in a row. Seam Drop is already very inconsistent so having to do it in a strict time limit can make it more difficult and having a longer more complicated memory manip makes the overall trick much harder. This route allows you to get a 50 minute time on a perfect run. The RTA memory manipulation for this route is currently in development so this route cannot currently be done and won’t be discussed in this guide.
