These are the notes cleartonic used at SaGa 2018. They are confirmed to work on emulator and console with the English patch.

SFC - Any% Highway Route

This is the route used in the current world record by Naritetsu. It saves 4-6 minutes over the Devil Palace route and only has one manipped battle, but said battle is longer and harder and there is a harder dodging sequence after the fight where you can't see where you are. As of writing, this route is only confirmed to work on SFC and reproduction consoles similar to the Super Retro Trio 3+.

SFC - Any% NMG - Irune's Katarina Matador route

This route was last updated by Irune in 2020. It was originally created around the same time TAKI made one of the first improvements to his route. Irune is also the author of the Robin Matador route. It is believed that this is the route used in Irune's world record, but we don't know for sure. This route is still very competitive with TAKI's route regardless.

Update 5/24/2021: clarified the 1 HP condition + level up info for Dragon Ruler, the Turn 1 conditions for Fight #24, and the setup for Destroyer, fixed an error with Abyss Naga (I listed +999 instead of +241) and True Byunei (the stares on K do nothing instead of missing), clarified the sequence of events before Turn 9 of Destroyer (you can let go of A once the text disappears instead of waiting until K's sprite moves, which makes Turn 9 much easier)

Update 5/21/2021: fixed an error with Turn 2 (D) of Fight #21 (Byunei) (i accidentally had the Right/Left buffers listed for D instead of K)

SFC - Darko's Any% NMG notes

This route is the same route Darko used in his 1:59:42, which is currently in 6th place.

Note that this route is possible on the Super Retro Trio 3+ as well.

SFC/VC - Any% NMG - TAKI's Katarina Matador Route

The original route was written by TAKI in 2010-2011-ish. It has since been improved upon several times. This is (almost) the route used in Linda's 1:50:34.

As of the last update, this is the current fastest route that's publicly available. There is one route that is faster than this one, which is the one used in Irune's world record, and it is not publicly available right now.
