Some tips for Any% if you're new.

This guide will help you get into running the Any% category if you are new to speedrunning RHF! This is pretty much all you need to know to get into speedrunning this game other than the basic game mechanics!

The most important thing to do is reset after creating your save file! It's faster if you have a Wii and can push the reset button there, otherwise use the home button and navigate to reset with the pointer. This skips the tutorial saving loads of time!

Try to not get any medals. Intentionally miss (or if you're bad like me just play normally) to prevent getting a medal on each level. Each medal wastes a second or two, and some can cause the "Go For a Perfect!" box to appear and lose even more time. You can get a medal on remix 7 since the timing ends when "OK" or "Superb" appears on screen, not losing any time.

There's not much else to it. I saw someone in another guide say that waiting to push "A" or "-" when prompted can save time, but I haven't tested it myself. If that turns out to be true I will add it above this paragraph and remove this sentence and the one prior. Just practice the ones you're not good at and chip down your time! Some tips if you didn't know what to do in an any% run.

The rhythm test is something that you don't have to do anything in. Try not to get superbs as the animation for the medal and the go for a perfect can waste time. Try to practice remixes 2 and 3 as they are very hard.

Tips for an Any%

Try not to spam the button to navigate the menu quicker, only when the "Press A or - to Skip" buttons actually appear, it will save seconds at most.

Try to get an OK on every game, the medal animation wastes seconds of time and can cause the "Go For a Perfect!" box to show, which also wastes time. The standard for getting an OK is missing 5 - 8 times at the start. Except for very long games, like Flock Step or Tambourine.
