Duckstation loading times discrepancy

Quick one, the legend Rad Shaz has submitted a Duckstation run, but the loading times are faster than mine for some reason. A good example of this is when the press go on the splits after when it says 'yet...' in the main hall. On mine there is a long black screen for a good few seconds and Rads run is instantaneous. Not too sure what you can do to check settings and stuff but our two runs are completely different with the loading times, hence a massive time difference in the splits and total time. If anyone's familiar with Duckstation and can shine some light on the situation that would be great cos i'm kinda stuck

Next to the speed at the top right, mine avgs around 60, Rads is 30? I think thats the culprit to loading times, erm, does anyone know why or what it is exactly cos i don't know who to ask about this emulator cos i'm not sure who tested it before putting it up on the boards. I would like to change it to 30 to match his, and retry it. I was wondering why it was loading so damn slowly like

So with the settings, whose run is correct with the speed? I'm happy to delete the run to change settings to what they should be set at. But i don't know who stands correct. Cheers! :)

Seems there was an update to Duckstation recently which has improved RE1 load times. I just tested my own version of Duckstation which is the latest version and there is no longer that long black screen after "yet". It was definitely there before. I guess you can test yourself by updating your own version of Duckstation and giving it a try.

This is actually a good thing because I found Duckstation to be extremely slow for RE1, hopefully this puts it more on par with actual hardware in terms of load times.

Also Subsonix. I think yours is showing 60fps in the top right because you checked "Show Display FPS" and not "Show Game Frame Rate" in the Display Settings on Duckstation.

Ive just done a retry and the game is now loading faster, by the 1st split its now showing a -25 and the game is actually loading how it should be. Maybe a recent update has fixed it. This is the 1st time trying it since submitting a run, cos after the yet... it loaded instantly. So aye a recent update must have fixed something along the lines which is nice. It says in the rules to show the FPS though? Doesn't mention anything about game rate

It's been ages since I set the rules and fucked around with Duckstation so I don't know what changes have been made now, but iirc the percentage that displays in the bottom right should be the game rate. At least that's what it was when I set the rules. I basically tried to get maximum game data showing to make it easier for moderating.

If the emulator settings and stuff change, then y'all should definitely discuss updating the rules for it. I was just trying to match it to PS1 performance as best as possible with what settings were there.

I think a recent update has improved the loading side of things, previously it was a little slow. Now its pretty good :) Rules are cool how they are now, it was just my original run was done on the out of date duckstation where everything was loading slow adding on IGT compared to more recent runs.
