A good friend of mine, Bird650, was playing this game for the first time on his PS4. He walked around the room a bit and sat down in the chair from the right side. He wasn't pressing anything at the time, and I told him "This channel sucks!" in chat. Then the TV exploded after Lucas said his first line.

Thoughts?

This would be a huge, huge timesave if we find a way to trigger it consistently.

Im doing some runs tonight, Im going to practice this part though to see the parameters for replication, ill post my findings

I have a backlog of skips/glitches to test at the moment. This one (Lucas' TV skip), blue keycard duping, boat elevator clip, and full-speed Jack sighting. Additionally, I have more to test with OoB and trigger sequencing. Unfortunately, I'm busy with work events until Thursday night, so I should be able to do more testing then and during the weekend.

If you've got any criteria for the elevator clip and full-speed jack I'd be happy to give them a try as well if you want some extra hands on this, im all for time saves!

@DemonStrate concerning the boat elevator clip, I think that I managed to do that with the "blocked -> teleportation" thing. I mean if the game detects that you are blocked, it teleports you back into an old position. If you move to climb the elevator to the next floor and hold left or right direction, and briefly press S, it looks like your char get blocked for a little moment. Sorry for my english, let me know if you didn't understand.

Could be the work of a faulty disc or HDD error though.

Seems exactly the same as revelations cutscene speedup. It's happens completely at random and cannot be replicated unless the game decides to do it. i can almost 100% guarentee we will not have control over this skip.

Yeah i think Ste's right, I've been trying for literally hours to replicate this skip, down to changing FPS, inventory, weapons, pathing, walking, running, shooting while entering video, literally so many parameters and I have yielded nothing. I've only got one trick left which I'm going to try now, but the only thing I will say is: I'm doing it on PC, not console, it may be entirely possible for console to replicate but we'd need somebody to try it.

The question begs though, if it is entirely random, is it a counted run? I know it's perhaps unfair to disqualify a run purely based on the fact that something random happens; but if its not a planned or replicatable is it a legit strat? I know it hasn't happened in a run yet and it most probably never will but its something to think about

If something isn't able to be replicated, it shouldn't really be allowed.

There's no way of knowing unless something can be consistently replicated whether it's the fault of the game (glitch) or the fault of the hardware.

Ive tried my last trick, im still getting nothing; if only he were trying to do the glitch then he might know what caused it. At this point we don't know if something way back in his playthrough potentially caused it, but that's so much to test.

It's not even like he did anything in particular by accident either; he just walked around, sat down from the right and literally "didnt press a single thing". I'm all out of ideas, unless someone can do it, might just be a game fault
