I was wondering weather or not stair skating with different weapons affects how fast you go as i was watching some NG+ runs and noticed most runners still carry the starting pistol with them.

I think it's less a question of how fast you go (it seems like you can stair skate pretty well with pretty much all the weapons imo). They probably just don't want to waste time by going to the item box.

you have to go to the item box to get the rocket launcher, you ditch everything in your inv at the same time. at least in A

i suppose but if you don't go to the item box you have to grab an inventory upgrade either at the start or after Birkin 1 otherwise you don't have space for the jack for both Leon and Claire, as for Claire you wont have room for the 1st electronic part or the large gear depending on which you grab first i thought there may have been a better reason like maybe an easier rhythm or something just curios mostly since they even equip it at certain parts.

I've only run Hunk but I've not seen any difference in stair skating between the different weapons. If there is one it's absolutely miniscule.

Your probably right just seemed like an odd choice to keep hold of it the full game.

I'll test today after work during one of my runs and see if it improves time. I have 1 empty spot by the end of the game anyways.

Condition and costume seem to affect it more then what weapon. You can also skate without a weapon.

Sweet would be nice to know it could optimise all categories aside from maybe low% if it does and if it doesn't i guess it's just business as always.

I don't see how costume could affect it unless they gave costumes invisible stats. I could see weapons having a different ADS time which could affect stair skating potentially. But someone would have to compare everything.

It'd be a bit crappy if costumes affected stats even in something small like this because I and i'm sure some other runners probably don't feel like wasting money on some skins we really couldn't care less about to gain an advantage other runners have.

Well...the only thing I can think of that costumes will realistically affect is framerate. Specifically the '98 costumes because they're of a significantly lower polycount than the others.

Probably, might be worth someone looking into though, I would but as previously stated i don't have and cant see myself purchasing the dlc skins anytime soon as well as not really knowing how one would go about checking.

The '98 skins are free. You just have to download them separately.
