This scenario doesn't ask for much track laying, but there's plenty of deciding which of the pre-built trains should travel on what pre-built track. Going for gold is probably faster than silver and bronze as it ends the scenario early. So much of this scenario is menuing, which I am not great at. I should be closing the train screens using Esc, but muscle memory...

Picked Industry Production +15%, instead of the other options (Train Speed +10%, or Acceleration +30%). Waiting for Troops and Ammunition production is a time bottleneck. The reason that I don't use Train 2 is that it's sitting idling out in the far southeast of England, blocked off from the goal stations by a bunch of demolished track, which I don't think is worth repairing, time-wise.

General stuff used: -You can turn the speed up or down before starting the level with the + and - keys -Esc exits windows -I turned off trees and turned graphics like trains and rails to visible from the outermost zoom level (this is less great in some scenarios, since it obscures the layout of plantations) -I used Livesplit, recording with OBS, Windows XP in Virtual Machine, Railroad Tycoon II Platinum Edition.
