PAUSE METHOD Going from left to right:

1. During a slide, hold RIGHT or DOWN+RIGHT
2. While holding RIGHT or DOWN+RIGHT, press JUMP and START at exactly the same time
3. During the pause, switch to DOWN or UP. Don't release JUMP
4. Unpause The run button is held down the entire time.

WITHOUT PAUSE Initiate a slide, press RIGHT or DOWN+RIGHT, then JUMP and switch to DOWN on the next frame.
