Recording

The easiest way to record is to force the game into windowed mode and then use Window Capture in OBS.

Follow these steps in order to get Pac-Man World 3 running in windowed mode using dxwnd:

1. Download, extract, and run dxwnd from https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd
2. Go to Edit -> Add. Select the game's executable (PMA_W32_M.exe) for both Path and Launch. Click 'OK'.
3. Double click on 'PacMan_World_3' in the games list in order to run the game.

Setting Up Your Controller (DS3)

If you're on Windows 10, you have to disable driver signature enforcement in order to use the MotioninJoy driver. In order to do this, follow Option Two here: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers

Follow these steps in order to set up the MotioninJoy drivers and BetterDS3:

1. Download and extract the MotioninJoy drivers from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M9E5lnUci003hSJ1Tep5cNbQ6lGFCGbr/view?usp=sharing
2. Plug in your DS3 controller. Go to the Control Panel -> Devices and Printers, and it should show up there.
3. Double click on it, go to Hardware -> USB Input Device -> Properties -> Change Settings
4. Go to Driver -> Update Driver -> Browse my computer... -> Let me pick... -> Have Disk... -> Browse...
5. Choose the drivers folder that you downloaded and then proceed with the installation.
6. Download and extract BetterDS3 from http://betterds3.ciebiera.net
7. Run BetterDS3. Your controller should show up under 'Connected DS3 Controllers'.
8. Go to New -> XInput. Click 'Auto Fill: Xbox 360'. Customize the button configuration as necessary.

These files:

• Increase the rectangular correction to allow full movement without Pac-Man slowing down when moving in certain directions.
• Remap the controls to match the PS2 version's control layout when using the default controls.

You can change these controls by modifying the config.ini file.

Changing the Game's Resolution

1. Download the config.ini file from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sm8IEp_rYfgk7lBMDDSfCdXp_FU9-DcY
2. Edit the 'xres' and 'yres' lines of this file to the resolution that you want.
3. Move this file to '%APPDATA%/Electronic Arts/Pac-Man World 3'

WARNING: Changing your resolution affects some things like the camera's behavior on Superjumps. It is recommended to keep the game's resolution at 640x480 for speedruns.

LiveSplit Auto Splitter

The PC version of Pac-Man World 3 has an Auto Splitter available for use within LiveSplit. In order to activate it, change your game name to 'Pac-Man World 3' and click on the 'Activate' button. The Auto Splitter will automatically start the timer, reset the timer when going back to the main menu, and split at the end of each level and when the final boss is defeated. If you compare against Game Time, it will also remove loading times.

Practice Save Files

Here is a program that lets you choose which practice saves you want on each of the 3 slots and automatically copies them. This also includes practice saves for every relevant save point in the Any% speedrun.

In order to copy over the high scores as well, copy 'PracticeFiles/OPTMW3' to '%APPDATA%/Electronic Arts/Pac-Man World 3'.
