I updated the original guide to the current route and put in the manips and BTW explanation. Hopefully anyone can now read the guide below and be able to complete a run.

Old route use to be Bulbasaur thus Krazyd4n is comparing squirtle vs bulba below. The squritle route has a very low chance of actually finishing.

Good: have tail whip, so faster rival fight on average Are water type, so 2 shot by lv 5 pikachu

Bad: Massive amount of RNG around the pidgey/slowbro catches, as neither can be manipped (we're talking single digit success %)

Faster in the ideal case, slower on average in a no-reset run, as if slowbro has bad special, you have to reset all the way to before the deathfly.

GUIDE STARTS HERE TID MANIP: blue_pal_gfreset_gfreset_gfreset_gfreset_gfskip_hop0_title1_newgame: 0x64C2 (25794), Cost: 2522.

FOR TID: Tap Pal (left, blue), soft reset 4 times (start holding on copyrite screen), Skip hop like normal, wait for squritle to start leaving the screen then hold start, enter game holding A.

Same ID (,,,,, 5 comma, rival A) Skip PC potion Choose squirtle Tail whip rival fight Center in viridian after route 1 Buy 9 pokeballs Skip tree potion

manip lv 5 pikachu deathfly NEWER OLDER () [Consider picking up tree potion if want to be as safe as possible, to heal pidgey damage]

After deathfly, catch a level 3-4 pidgey (cannot manip) (If level 3 pidgey, name AA)

Menu flash before entering forest

Catch the Nidoking/Slowbro, hope for 16 special (5/16 for nidoking, 6/16 for slowbro)

If low on balls, pick up weedle guy potion and sell it to buy an extra If really low on balls, also pick up the antidote and the corner potion (or reset) If really really low on balls, reset

Switch Nidoking/Slowbro to front before Brock Thur Walls

Buy an escape rope Do BTW (if unsure of movement watch someones run)

Here is general info on how to do BTW After mart swap slowbro/nidoking to front Head due right from the mart Hold start once you step in front of the guy, move cursor to save Press B to exit menu while holding right Trigger the cutscene When the "Follow Me" textbox appears, clear it with the B button Instantly after pressing B hold the START button If you did it right, your start menu should pop up Hit SAVE (you are already over it) and reset If your start menu didn't open, you hit start too late. Just go back and try again Once the game reset, load the savefile normally Once loaded spam B while holding right Go back to the guy and stand talk to him after clearing the last textboxes hold B and hold RIGHT If the game crashed, your Pidgey had bad HP or your slowbro/nidoking didn't have 16 Special If that happens, reset and try again or reset to start the run over Switch pidgey to front if have nidoking

Save and reset for DITTO manip after BTW Catch ditto (AA pidgey works, SLOWBRO also seems to work)

After catch, swap DITTO to front Rope out

Walk south and hope for rat encounter Transform into rat, swap tail whip to slot 1, then run from the encounter

Walk to https://www.extratricky.com/pokeworld/rb/1#67,211 Flash pokedex Get encounter 2 rows below

Double distort for f4 (go into fight, scroll down until type changes, go into items, go back to fight and scroll until type changes, then throw pokeball)

Get another encounter on same row Do the second distort (change type twice then throw ball)

After 2nd catch open menu and go to pokemon for magic swap shenanagans

Look at stats of pokemon in slot 6 5 <> 1 1 <> 12 19 <> 17 7 <> 1 7 <> 17 Back out of menu Win
