# Better Outlast II Launcher


This launcher has pretty much everything you'll need to speedrun Outlast II.

- Has speedrunhelper with custom commands like freecam, tp to freecam, god mode, and of course F1-F4 checkpoints

- Can edit bindings easily for FPS changes and more

- Makes it easier to install and use old patch (it will sync your game files and everything)

- Allows you to play No CPK, Cutscene Skip, No stamina, and any combination of those

- Makes it easy to modify some of the game files change allowed by the rules



**You need to install this program in your game folder for this to work.**

Better Outlast II Launcher

**IMPORTANT:** This version of the mod is outdated and will not work correctly with the *No Checkpoint Killing* category. You can install an updated version using [this launcher](https://www.speedrun.com/outlast2/resources/eoium).

This mod automatically skips cutscenes without the need to press any keys. It also does not require you to play the cutscenes in any specific order.

Installation instructions:

1. Open the directory where Outlast 2 is installed.
2. Open the archive you downloaded from this post.
3. Extract **dinput8.dll** into **Binaries\Win64**.
4. Open the game and use the **0** key to toggle the mod. After pressing that key, text will appear in the top left corner telling you whether the mod is currently enabled or not.

Cutscene Skip Mod

Copy the text from the attached text file into DefaultInput.ini, under the section: ";- Keyboard and mouse"

To use the mod, hit "home" during a load screen, usually best to do so during the first loading screen of the run.

Every time you get to a cutscene that is skipped, hit NumPad 1 to get the checkpoint and then Save and Quit.

The only exception is for the very last cutscene skip, it puts you into the Knoth cutscene at the end of the game, but you need to hit "end" during the load screen before hand, and it will make you stand up and the cutscene not play. The reason for this is "end" sets your checkpoint to be none, and this causes everything not to load properly.



You can always modify the keybinds in the text provided to change these if you would like to use different keys for the mod.

Outlast 2 Multimod

Speedrun Helper is a simple tool that incorporates a few different features you can use to practice speedrunning:

- Storing positions - allows you to save up to four different positions and teleport back to them
- Teleport to freecam - allows you to teleport your character to wherever you are while using freecam *(in order to enable freecam you will need to use in-game commands)*
- God mode - makes you invincible

Make sure to open the game first, then the tool. Further usage instructions will appear on screen after opening the tool.

Speedrun Helper

Contains a link to a modified Engine.upk file made by Outlast modder Hydle which unlocks the UE console. To use replace your Engine.upk file with this and then press the ` key on your keyboard.

There's now a variable for you too select when submitting to the 100% category. You have to put what version of the game you're playing.  It's faster to do 100% on the May 10th 2017 patch instead of the current version of Outlast 2.
