Hello everyone!
I've noticed this being asked time and time again, whether it's in the Discord, a forum post here or in a DM to a Moderator on SRC. To answer all of the confusion around "how long does my run take to get verified?", I wanted to make this post regarding it.
As a standard SRC (speedrun.com) has a 21 day period in which is allotted for SRC moderators / verifiers to review your submissions before they are considered "inactive". Generally speaking, the duration of time for waiting for your submission is 1-2 weeks on any given game on this site, as not every moderator / verifier logs into SRC every single day to check the queue. With that being said this game for the most part has a 1-3 day pending period, simply because of the sheer volume of runs that are submitted on a daily basis. (avg is 40-50 submissions a day). Due to this, with the amount of verifiers / moderators we currently have for this game it simply takes time to review your speedruns and get them approved / denied in a timely manner. Additionally, with how popular this game is, there are a lot of eyes on the game, finding new tricks, skips and glitches comes on a regular basis, meaning we have to pivot from verifying runs to making sure the ruleset for the games' speedrun makes sense and is fair from an overall perspective.
I want to also mention that Verifiers and Moderators are not paid for verifying runs, or working on making this games' community is what it is, it's simply volunteer effort on our parts, so if we have personal life matters those will take priority to a hobby.
With all of that said, I hope this sheds some light on why you might submit a run and then a few days later you get a notification about it being approved / denied and have to either re-submit or await your better run you've achieved during that waiting period.
Hello everyone!
Regarding Leaderboard Changes!
We have finished restructuring the layout of the Leaderboard!
- No Major Glitches is now renamed to Any% You can select the "With Launch" (Meaning Drake Launch) & "Launchless" (Meaning without Drake Launch) to determine which view of the Any% category you would like. We have also updated the rules with some more defined standing on what we look for in these specific variables.
- Any% Unrestricted is no longer a sub-category but now it's own category, and all existing runs have been moved to it as necessary.
- Bedless - Bedless Unrestricted is now True Bedless
Regarding Stowaway Skip!
It seems as if this skip has already been widely accepted from most of the Runners' communities, as well as it seems to have viability in runs. With this we think it's best to fully accept the skip as a valid part of the Any% category starting from this point on. No longer questionable or if it will be "allowed" especially with the Leaderboard changes we've made as listed above. We haven't had an official standing on it until this point as we've wanted to see how the trick itself evolved over a couple of days.
Regarding Discord Roles!
- Added Role icons - just to make it a little more distinguished on who is who within the Discord server. Some of you may have noticed but we've removed the Runner role from everyone at the same time, as we mentioned in a previous announcement and have been working to get those of you who have verified runs on the leaderboard re-added to the Runner role. The future changes to the game on SRC as well categories, etc. will be held with Runner's perspective and interests in mind, so polls will require this Runner role to participate. (As per previous announcement)
- Removed the Theorycrafting role - As this role really didn't serve a purpose.
Newest Game Update!
With the addition of the newest game update, we've noticed there are some major changes (Rails Bed), which saves a pretty drastic amount of time within the games' speedrun. As a result we know a lot of people are going to go for that "free" PB, and we're totally alright with this, please feel free to commit to those speedruns and get those PBs! As for the newest runs that are submitted, we will be verifying these once we are completely caught up with the current queue. (Which should be today).
Regarding Only Up! Subreddit!
So just so you know, there is a subreddit dedicated to the game that was created some weeks ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/OnlyUpGame/ . If you wish to discuss the game or see anything related to the game that's not on this Discord then this is the place to look!
Thanks to them for also promoting of the Discord server 👍 !
As a final note;
For those of you who don't know, when you are changing your FPS in game you do not need to click "save" prior to exiting out of the menuing. (This saves a click!!)
I know there has been a fairly long wait time on a lot of speedruns everyone has been submitting and we want to thank everyone involved for their patience with getting their runs verified. This community has sort of "taken off" it's become hugely popular and we weren't exactly prepared for the mass popularity that was destined for the game. Anyway, we highly appreciate everyone's patience in this matter and hope everyone continues to be apart of this games huge community.
Thank you!
