Monolight Glitches guide
Rising State (RS):
Moving platforms are really broken in this game. While standing under a roof and on the top of a platform that is moving up, the game ignores collision for the ceiling and allows you to just move straight through it. This puts you in a state that I will call, “Rising state” (RS). While in RS you can do most actions normally, such as running or turning on the light, but you will be constantly rising. While in RS you cannot jump, but attempting to will move you slower up through the ceiling, losing about .25 seconds per second. RS stays active until you leave the block that you are currently rising through. All other collisions and obstacles stay active while in RS, so be careful not to die!
RS can also be activated in any direction of a moving platform. All other facts stay true about RS while being crushed in any direction, but other directions of RS have not found to be nearly as useful
Teleportation:
While standing still, you can teleport by jumping, pausing and pressing left or right. This will teleport you to the next collision on your LEFT. I do not know of a way to teleport right yet. This can be done multiple times in one jump. This can also be done after you land (assuming you don’t do any inputs from the initial jump), and *sometimes while doing a running jump.
*While doing a running jump you must hold down whichever direction you are running until the pause. This is also very finicky, and not %100 so I would most likely just trust the standing teleport.
Mid-air Jump:
While climbing a ladder, if you pause, jump, teleport, then unpause, you will do a small jump at wherever you teleported to. This can be used to essentially land on blocks that you would normally teleport over.
Animation stalling:
During the duration of any animation (such as flipping a lever or entering a door), you cannot die from the darkness, but darkness will continue to spread, and you will die as soon as the animation is done if you have accumulated enough of it.
Moon Light Glitch: In level 3-8, if the moon “dark” light is off, the state will be saved through deaths. This is the only lever in the game that’s state can be saved through deaths (That I know of). The lever starts in the “on” state, but after flipping it to the “off” state it stays off, even through deaths.
