A simple pitching trick to save considerable time over the course of many exhibition-based runs is the "slide-step"

Simply hold L2 or LT while pitching, and your pitcher will essentially release the ball faster. Not a hard trick by any means, and basically a free time save if you use it throughout the run. Can get annoying with runners on base, as L2/LT is also the button to look at your runners. Once you're as some of us though, you won't have to worry about having runners on the bases ;)
