Another question related to co-op. In duos, does only one person have to record? And the person recording has to be server op?
When should i start my timer the first frame the world is visable or when i first move and can i use the in game time that displays in the level.dat file or do i need other software to keep time of that?
Im sorry i said the wrong file the file im talking about is a json file located in saves/worldname/stats the name is just a bunch of numbers and in that json file there is two tags wich display in game time one says "minecraft:play_one_minute": x amount of in game ticks and another one saying "minecraft:time_since_death": x amount of in game ticks since death i guess. I made a quick test map without dying so for me they match is there any know reason for these to be in acurete or just not allowed to be used

What performance mods are allowed? All I have is optifine and isn't that banned/ getting banned?
@robotbilly123 Use the in-game timer made by Geosquare (my recommendation). You can find it in the #faq channel of the discord. Also btw you're not allowed to use level.dat timers lol. I know you said the wrong file but just a heads up. Also for livesplit you start it on first input usually. Also I would recommend the in-game timer over using the in-game stats/looking at playoneminute after the run because it's just better and more convenient.
wait so its against the rules to look in the stats folder or is it against the rules to manipulate the level.dat file and what should i use for the newest minecraft version
@ItsLenny Right now, sodium and optifine are allowed for 1.16, but starting on August 19th, optifine will be banned for 1.16 ONLY. This is because sodium isn't available for pre 1.16 versions. Optifine is permitted on all other versions for the time being.
I have a question: When speedrunning (on any category, but the one I'm interested in is random seed glitchless 1.9-1.15), if you have to go pee for example, are you allowed to press escape and pause the timer? Or does the timer have to continue running? Even if igt stops (which I would assume it does) am I also allowed to pause realtime?
Hello, I have one quick question: (attempting 1.16.1 coop speedrun) Are there limitations as to what kind of server you can use? Obviously spigot and things like that are banned, but if I am not able to use the LAN number because I'm on a different wifi than my partner, are we allowed to use a realm? I'm not sure what issues would come from using a realm but I just wanted to ask and make sure. Thanks!

Hey! I am trying to use the livesplit ingame timer on minecraft, but it does not update until i pause the game. Is there anyway to fix this?
That is the way the in game timer works. It tracks game files or something and the files only update when you pause or beat the dragon.
Hello peeps! I want to speedrun minecraft java but I don't have the actual game, only cracked. So can I still speedrun if im running a cracked launcher?
That shouldn't be a problem. I really do recommend buying actual minecraft. You can also buy some accounts online for pretty cheap. Not too sure how much you can trust those though...

I’m not trying to sound dumb because I know the odds are Basically impossible, but I’m just wondering what would happen if somebody happened To get the set seed seed as a random seed And they already perfect the set set so they could technically beat mineraft random seed in like 3 minutes or would this not be counted?
