Every point of FPS is at least a minute of time save if not more. My runs were at 28 FPS because for some reason putting it in a window was doing that. i did do a run at 31 FPS (dont know why it was running at that) and saved over 5 minutes while making mistakes.
Rivatuner can lock this game at 30 fps , i had to use medium detection level, i was able to do this with Piexoto patch, although it should not matter how the game was run as long as we can see its running at 30 FPS
Yea I agree, games running on these low fps rates have significant difference to the ending time even with minor fps changes, especially since this game doesn't have an ingame counter like RE-games etc. Shouldn't be too hard to include, there's different options for sure. But gotta find the one that the streaming softwares are able to pick up, Win10's Game Bar doesn't show up on OBS. Maybe the Rivatuner is the best bet, as that can be set down to limit the fps to 30 at all time too, so Peixoto is optional when using that (thou it's nicer to have better ingame resolution, who wouldn't want that).
It works well with peixoto like this , i even think forcing 30 FPS makes the game more stable. Also even 31 FPS is noticeable with the animations. I did get a 1:21 with a few small mistakes. I think the biggest indicator that 30 FPS is correct was actually the credits which were smooth and matched the music
Well 30/60fps has been the standard since the mid 90's (earlier on arcades thou), so we could assume this game was designed to run at that rate. But it should be always shown on the recorded/streamed footage. Shame that we can't add the game to Steam when using Peixoto, Steam has that build in FPS counter layer which is visible to OBS etc. I tried adding the shortcut to Steam but it didn't fire up.
I just tested out the PS1-version with emulation. The game runs 30fps on stock settings and speed, but feels way more sluggish to play. But I guess that it's about a bad port, rather than the fps rate. However, PS1-version doesn't have FPS cap at all, so when lifting up emulator core clock, fps goes beyond 40.
Could be that PC version's engine is also uncapped, but doesn't go beyond 31fps. Allthou, it might even actually be higher value on fps, but if the game skips a lot of the frames, then the fps rating is not correct when it shows 31.
So, 30fps is the rate that the game to be run, as it feel the most balanced and is generally the de facto-standard for fps rates. 31 is definitely too fast, albeit fluid, and 28 is too slow.
the PS1 version is flat out garbage compared to the PC version in basically every way....PC uncapped is very weird depending on what patches your using. the first time i played it it was 32 or possibly higher, the credits were less than 1 second long, when your died you could not even read syonara
Hi all! Have you found a way to fix 30 FPS? When running the game normally or running in a window, I get a maximum of 28 FPS (or less). When using "peixoto's patch" the game speeds up noticeably, but I can't check the FPS number: overlays either don't work or break the graphics (purple screen). Could I use "peixoto's patch" or is it better to play without it (at 28 FPS)? Thank you!
