Beginner's guide

The game could be run on any version of PPSSPP emulator (1.6.3 and up version) 
Cause of Guerrilla Games irresponsibility we cannot play Chapter 5 ANYWHERE ON EMULATOR (only those lucky people who has Vita , PSP or PSTV) so we speed running only 4 Chapters on EMU and 5 Chapters on CONSOLES.
And dont worry - Rico will be saved in unknown Chapter 5 :)

If you came here to speedrun this game - then you probably know, that you dont have to pick up ANY vektan's money. (except MISC. categories).
The M82 Assault rifle is more then enough for any part of this game (except some stages on normal/hard difficulties)

Hardest parts of the run are RNG and some places just need to be practiced :

Bomb detonation has to be practiced (safe spot to wait for the blow)

You can roll thru the third laser

Sniper mine detonation (specific grenade throw)

TNT close detonation
Blind rocket launcher

Quick/Safe keycard and another safe spot detonation.

Quick gate skip (first time when you open the 3 gates and you have 6 seconds)

QUICK start (even if patrol summoned 3 helgasts - just run thru)

Try to camp EVERY shotgunner for the quick kill
After gate detonation - run towards the end and do not fight 1-2 shotgunners

DO NOT loose the boat till the mines force you to disembark after the rocket guy

Flamethrower skip (x2 - both are really REALLY important)

The very beginning (you have to pray for the good random movement of the enemies, otherwise you gonna lose tons of time)

Startson is a test of endurance, know where your health is, which enemies spawn, where they spawn, and where to stand. His first flame grenades will attempt to target you, his final will be ahead of you and can be baited. Blind-ish spot near the back pillars.

How to launch DEMO (PPSSPP emu only)

After downloading ZIP. file from "Resources" section you have to open your PPSSPP (latest version right now is 1.11.3) and go to "Games" section and find the file that you've just downloaded.

Hit "X" and install the DEMO version.

After that - navigate to "Homebrew & Demos" and find your installed DEMO.

The USA version has to have a name "UCUS98646-Demo" in GAME folder; otherwise, it won't work (never tested on original PSP).

How to play Chapter 5 on PPSSPP (PSP emulator)

After 10+ years a person with the nickname "Linblow" was able to decrypt the US version of patch 1.2 and launch it on PPSSPP emulator. The version of the emu, actually, doesn’t matter (tested on 1.6.3 and on 1.13.2), but what matters is that the decrypted patch and the decrypted game fully stable and having a proper emulation of Killzone Liberation VERSION 1.2 that came out on May 30th of 2007.

This is the official comment from Linblow’s discord, “I decrypted the patch months ago and updated the game with it (v1.20). You can find it on static socom cc. You still need to place the CHAPTER5 file in the PSP/GAME/UCUS98646 folder though. Which I manually updated to 1.20 (decrypted the PGD file that can't be decrypted in emulators), as well as the PARAM SFO file, and repacked into a new ISO. Remember to have Killzone's CHAPTER5.BIN file in your MemoryStick directory, at this path: PSP/GAME/UCUS98646Otherwise you won't have the new chapters.” which have been tested by me and I can clearly say that this is exactly the “vanilla” version of the original Killzone: Liberation on PSP, and you can speedrun freely.

1. Go to https://www.speedrun.com/kzl/resources and download "Chapter 5 info for EMU" under “patches” where you can find information on where and how to get to the decrypted game.
2. Download US Chapter 5 (1.2) from the same link above
3. Unzip file and put 2 files into the following directory: PSP/GAME/UCUS98646 
4. Launch the decrypted game, and you will see Chapter 5.

Linblow has released a patched version of the game (EU and USA) where you don't have to do ANY manipulations with the PSP/GAME data and install official DLC. PLease, contact me (Vossler_XIII) directly, so I can provide you with info about this patched versions of the game. Thank you.
