Basic Knowledge Most momentum is gained by jumping Opponents can’t attack immediately after being hit Armor can be canceled at any time with no penalty, depleting the armor’s energy disables it until a lightning bolt pickup is collected Unlocking more armor throughout the run adds minimal time due to having to select armor during each armor select screen Shadow Jonin armor is the only armor that should be used as it makes the player character the fastest by far, as well as having ranged aerial attacks

Menuing Save Icon doesn’t matter (pick whatever you like) Choose Sgt. Serge (use him for all levels; though not the fastest character, his attacks are significantly more powerful than all other characters, unequip armor during ambushes Choose Shadow Jonin Armor (has projectile attacks and is by far the fastest armor in the game) (Timer starts on selection of armor) Skip cutscenes with Start D-pad and Stylus can be used to maneuver the world map

Military HQ Military HQ 1: Follow the path

Military HQ 2: Follow the path, save Rock-O and skip text, 3 Ninja Ambush

Military HQ 3: Follow path, take right path downward, head towards the left 1 sword guy ambush once on ground follow path, climb steps and head towards the left climb steps 2 sword guy ambush

Military HQ 4: Follow path, when on the main ground

  • do not pick up red speed boost, skips ambush
  • head all the way right, jump onto the second hallway after hitting the last jumpy-box, head left and follow the path

Cloud Peaks Cloud Peaks 1: Skip text, head to the top of the ruins, head right follow path up the ruins to main ground and head left, jump up the ruins at the end, head right on the path above the bridge, head up the mountain to the snowy part and head left, 3 ninjas/3 tacklers ambush

Cloud Peaks 2: Follow path, jump up and head left, jump up and head right, 4 sword guy ambush head up and travel across jumpy boxes, head up the mountain and head right, head up and head left

Cloud Peaks 3: First take upper path along the ruins, double jump off the metal disappearing platform to avoid an ambush below and continue to head right, head up the mountain, after jumping off the box, immediately head to the right to avoid an ambush

Hidden Tunnels Hidden Tunnels 1: Skip text, follow path, 1 tackler ambush on bridge continue to the right 2 tackler ambush on bridge, continue on

Hidden Tunnels 2: Follow the path, 2 tackler ambush head up the ruins and follow the path (watch for two barrels) 2 tackler ambush follow the lower path

Hidden Tunnels 3: Follow the path up and to the right, head up and to the left, head up and to the right, 3 tacklers (2 shielded) ambush Up and left 3 tacklers (1 shielded), 1 ball bot ambush follow the path and head left at the top, follow path (watch out for tacklers)

Desolate Valley Desolate Valley 1: Skip text, follow path, Double jump at edge of cliff to avoid ambush follow path (first take upper path to avoid another ambush),

Desolate Valley 2: Follow path, ambush (3 ninjas or sword guys), follow path

Desolate Valley 3: Follow path, At the last moment double jump off the last metal platform to land on the mountain on the far side to avoid an ambush head up, take right path

Frightful Forest

Frightful Forest 1: Skip text, follow path go upper route whenever possible

Frightful Forest 2: Follow path, follow top path to avoid an ambush Head right and up, ambush (4 prospectors/sword guys) follow top path in the trees (this avoids an ambush, air attack can hit goal flag)

Frightful Forest 3: Follow path, Jump on bouncy boxes to avoid an ambush (make sure not to hit a bop bag bot) ambush (3 prospector/tacklers) head up and to the right

Endgame Tank Trouble: Skip text, mash Y button Dodging spikes saves milliseconds, skip cutscene

Thunder Ball: Skip text, head left destroy each wire Hit the big circle thing (door?)

Escape from Thorn: invincible while dashing armor up if needed

Tower of the Zhu: ambush (6 baseball robots/bop bag robots/ball robots), ambush (Boss 1: don’t get too close or he’ll use his sword) ambush (Boss 2: same as last boss) ambush (Final Boss: Try not to get hurt and spam attack. Armor Up if necessary, re doing this level takes a long time Timer stops upon final hit on final boss
