I made a video for each round of the run, explaining it from a beginners perspective. I do cover the zips in round 2, and vertical zips in round 4.

I also cover both boss skips, as well as touch on the frame perfect kill on the first phase of the final boss.

Pause buffer jump

It is possible to buffer a jump after closing the menu and do mid-air jumps.

How to do it: 

- the mid-air jump can only be done while falling/descending at max. speed
- while falling press start and pause the game and then unpause it right after
- during the disappearing of the menu press and hold immediately "A" and you will do another jump in mid-air after the menu disappeared 

"Help! It didn't work for me!"

If it didn't work for you then you either weren't falling at max speed or you didn't press and hold "A" at the correct spot.

round 2 and 3 boss skips

By using the in the previous guides explained techniques (zipping and wall climbing) it is possible to skip the boss fights in round 2 and 3 and simply proceed to the next stage without having to fight the bosses.

- get in to the ceiling like in the video

- initiate a zip and try to stop the zip by pressing "select" somewhere in between the red lines marked in this picture http://puu.sh/kSkUy/34a876d583.png

- once you stopped in the marked area hold "select" and press "A" three times to rise higher

- press right for 31 frames to start zipping again and once you reach the wall press "start" two times to pause and unpause the game (pausing and unpausing the game for some reasons make the skip work every time)

- press "A" to jump and trigger the end of the stage
 
If you did everything correctly you will die after the "alert" screen and continue with 3-1



Round 3-3:

- position yourself like in this picture and shoot a broom

- jump on the broom and get in to the wall and start to wall climb until you reach this point

- by quickly alternating between left and right you can move to the left, wiggle a bit to the left but not too far otherwise you will hit invisible spikes and die

- hold "select" and press "A" five times to rise higher

US and JP Version Differences

In Japan, this game is known as Magical Kids Doropie while in the US, it was renamed to The Krion Conquest. They are the same game but with some differences here and there that affect how you would run the game. Here are the positives and negatives for each, mostly based on how it affects the speedrun.

Magical Kids Doropie:

+ Cuter artstyle
+ Continues 
+ Extra lives
+ Dying at a boss spawns you right in the boss room
- Cutscenes
- Cannot do Boss Skips 

The Krion Conquest:

+ Almost all cutscenes taken out
+ Can do a skip in some 3rd acts of a stage to completely ignore fighting the boss
+/- Westernized artstyle, although not too drastically different
- No extra lives or continues
- Dying at a boss spawns you at the beginning of the third stage act, not the boss

Overall: Magical Kids Doropie makes for a better casual experience but there is no contest between the two for speedrunning. Krion Conquest is the faster game, although also more difficult.

wall climbing

In some stages you will need the wall climbing to rise up faster than you would normally do with the broom. Especially in round 4 wall climbing is very useful which I would like to cover in this guide.

- walk towards a wall
- as soon as you hit the wall press and hold "select"
- press right (left when the wall is on the right side) for 1-3 frames so you will turn around and be stuck in the wall
- while still holding "select" press "A" repeatedly to quickly rise up
- the faster you mash the faster you will rise up

zips in Round 2

This game "features" zips similar to the Rockman 2/Mega Man 2 zips. Even though they might look quite similar technically they are not as zips in Krion Conquest works differently and are also performed differently.
Zips are limited to round 2 as for zipping the ice physic is required which is lacking in other rounds. 

Instruction:

In order to get into the ceiling and initiate a zip you have to get stuck in a wall first to be able to rise up all the way up to the ceiling.
To do that there are two methods, an easier and slower one which I will cover and explain here and an in my opinion harder but a little bit faster one which duckfist went for in his current pb.

- stand on the very right side of the broom so one foot is not on the broom
- make sure the character is looking to the left when the wall is to the right of her (and look right when the wall is to the left)  
- press up to start moving the broom upwards 
- press and hold (!) "select" until you reach the ceiling
- as soon as you are in the wall press "A" repeatedly until you reach the ceiling
- hold right for at least 31 frames to initiate the zip 
- once in a while you will stop zipping, just press right again and you will continue zipping
