I recently started learning the new engine route but I have been having trouble learning to wall climb. I can still wall climb but I can never get as high as I need too before the item falls out from under me and I have to try again. I was wondering whether I just needed to practice more or if I need to install the source unpack thing. Any advice is appreciated.
You can wallclimb on any version of the game. I play on the Steam version. The easiest way to prop climb is the be at the wall with the prop under your feet. Crouch, then have your cursor downward at a 45 degree angle (not straight forward but not straight down either. look in-between that.) Then mash E pretty quickly. The quicker the better. You should also be spamming scroll wheel (which you should have bound to jump if you haven't done that already). You should then be able to prop climb to the sky as high as you want. It works on every versions. Get above your prop, aim down. Two setups :

- Scroll mwheel forever while holding +forward and +duck and mashing +use

- Scroll mwheel forever while mashing both +forward and +use while ducking.
For OE, there is also the flying but I think you didn't mean that.
