To import a save on Steam, extract the archive into C:\Users\User\Saved Games\Grounded. Restart your game.
To import on PC game pass/Windows, extract the save anywhere on your computer then in the Grounded save menu, click import save, select the save folder you extracted it to and confirm. I use Steam so sorry if that's not exactly right but that should be mostly it.
To import on Xbox you need a PC/laptop yourself or someone else with one. If you have access to a PC and the game on:
- Windows 10/Game pass: Sign into the game on PC, import the save and Xbox should automatically sync your saves. If it doesn't then just make a shared copy in-game on PC and that should appear on your console which you can then make a local copy of.
- Steam: Import the save and make a shared copy which will appear on your console and you can make a local copy of. Just make sure you log in to the same Xbox account.
If you're on console and don't have access to a PC, someone else will need to add you on Xbox, import the save themselves, make a shared copy and then share it with you in-game. You can then make a local copy.
To backup a save in-game simply create a shared copy of the save and then create a local copy of that new shared world. A side benefit of this is it will generate that local copy with a new world code so it will be a separate world from the original and so won't get in the way or overwritten when running on the original.
Will update for the other consoles after 1.4 releases and I know how it works.
