For speedrunning Don't Look Down, you could be using plugins for many different reasons. This is a guide on how to install plugins and which ones are allowed and what they're used for.

1. Install the Gimloader Extension following these instructions: https://thelazysquid.github.io/Gimloader/usage/installation/

2. Go to this link to install all the plugins you want to use: https://thelazysquid.github.io/Gimloader/usage/plugins/

3. Here I will list all plugins allowed to be used for speedrunning. Note: Some plugins can only be used for certain subcategories.

Bring Back Boosts (Release Physics/Creative Platforming Patch):

This plugin will allow you to revert the game's physics to different versions. The default setting has it set at Creative Platforming Patch, but if you go into settings of the plugin you can also access Release Physics as well. Only use the physics if you're running its respective subcategory. This plugin desyncs your gim.

Savestates (Summit Teleporting):

This plugin will allow you to be able to teleport to each summit using a key-bind (Ctrl + Shift + # of summit you want to go to). This is the plugin that would allow you to run individual summits for earlier versions of the game if you are using Bring Back Boosts. The plugin can also simply be used to go back to the starting area of the run quicker. This plugin can NOT be used to teleport to a further summit in the middle of a speedrun, all runs that do this will be REJECTED. This plugin desyncs your gim.

DLD Timer (Autosplitter):

This plugin will time your speedruns for you for all categories, show your splits, and how much time you've saved off of your personal best. This plugin does not desync your gim. (This mod can also be used for One Way Out and Fishtopia)

Input Recorder (Alternate run recording method):

This plugin allows you to record the inputs of your speedrun as to not have to lag your computer with using a real recording software. This can be used as an alternative to people with bad computers. You still do have to record the playback afterwards but you will negate some lag while actually doing the run. Ctrl + R starts and stops your recording. Ctrl + B lets you choose the file you want to playback the inputs of. This plugin does not desync your gim while recording, but does while doing the playback.
