This is about a speedrun for "Terminator: Resistance" in the category "Extreme":
https://www.speedrun.com/terminator_resistance/full_game#Any
There's only a single run by a runner called insane0100 which has been verified by 666deadhunter. The run is close to 8 hours long, compared to the only other run on the board on easy difficulty which clocks in at 90 minutes, which is already a good indicator that this cannot be right as the gameplay doesn't differ that much between difficulties.
There's no onscreen timer. The game is frequently paused, but not as a strat, but because the runner is audibly distracted by other stuff and this is happing right from the beginning and goes on for the entire 45 minutes I spent watching this run. At around the 40:40 mark, he starts explaining a menu item to a viewer of his stream.
This is clearly just a training session at best. How did such a poor recording get verified in the first place? If this is really up to the standards of this site, then I'd be interested in hearing the reasoning for the decision.
And don't get me wrong: I'm happy that someone is tackling the category and I'm looking forward to see a run for that.
Either ask that in the game forum: https://www.speedrun.com/terminator_resistance/forum or contact the moderator directly.
Okay so the run is "bad"... who cares? Also on-screen timer doesn't appear to be required for this game, so not sure why you mentioned that.
Since your account is literally brand new, you should take some time to read up on some rules and look around a bit more and learn how all this works before making completely uninformed accusations like this.
The description on his submission says: "full game in 8 h 100%". So the length is probably due to him doing a 100% run and just submitting it to the Any% category since there's no other one to submit it to. But I haven't watched his run so I can't really say for sure if that's the case though.
Guys, thanks for jumping in without actually having checked out the video... The run starts at 9:37....yet the time isn't even deducted from the "calculated" total run time which funnily enough, is a second longer than the video itself. So no, I don't have to read any rules to see that the timing is off by 10 minutes, pauses excluded. And no, a 100% run doesn't take that long. Pauses account for approx. half the time of the first 45 minutes already, so the real run time is probably around 3 to 4 hours.
Apparently it's enough to become moderator for a game to upload any kind of video and get it approved, even if it is only a lets play. But thanks anyway for your answers. At all other serious speedrunning communities, this would have been rejected without a debate. I just wanted to know whether the standards here are really that low.
You neglected to mention the timing issues in your original post, that's definitely something the moderators should have corrected (I didn't bother checking anything in the video because we frequently get new users who come out of nowhere and think they know everything and that there's a problem when one doesn't exist), I'll reach out to them and get that sorted out.

Sorry, who the hell are you? Your account is 13 hours old so I'm inclined to think you have no idea what you're talking about here. Take a hike. Locking this useless thread.
