I see an option to get a notification email when someone "likes" my forum post, but I don't see an option to get a notification email when someone comments? :/

Notifications for tagging users in comments are disabled. That includes not having an option to receive an email.

I'd like to receive an email when anyone comments on MY post. I didn't know that you commented here until I came back to this post. Is there any way to do that?

Like, if I make a post, and someone comments on it a week later and I don't check the post again... I would have no idea that someone had commented.

Best thing you can do is go to your profile and click "Forum posts" then go to your last forum posts and see if someone replied. Doesn't seem that like that much effort.

I'm sorry but I need to be quite honest -> Getting an email notification because someone "liked" your post, but not getting an email notification when someone COMMENTED on your post is completely backwards to me.

I don't know of any other forum that doesn't allow you to get an email when someone responds to your post.

I only mean this as a suggestion / constructive-criticism. Not trying to sound complainy.

Sure, you are not the first one to suggest this. A feature like this is on the feature request list. Though you have to understand its considered a low priority feature request and might take awhile before its considered and worked on.
