Now, I know that community makes rules for game. But I have heard that pausing in the middle of an IL–run invalidates run in some speedrunning videos. Is it common practice that IL–run gets invalidated from pausing or is it possibly even automatic.
I have run in hand that is reason for me asking this question just to be sure.
I mean, I'm not a mod of a racing game, but given that IL's are often quite short, I'd imagine it could be a problem with verification unless it was part of some kind of allowed speed tech.
But then again, that's a question for the mods of the specific game. I totally get that life calls sometime, it's happened to me in the middle of good runs before.
I'm always a little bugged sometimes by the pausing limitations on very long runs, but I also get the reason they're there.
I am a runner of many Mario Kart games, FZero MV, and other racing games. Almost all racing games I have interacted with either ban pausing mid-race, or heavily frown upon it. That being said, I don't know of any games that actually benefit from pausing besides Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the former of which has banned it, and the latter of which promotes it.
I thank you for your replies, everyone! Decision was made to disallow pausing during ILs
