I want to ask what is required for a series to justify a series board before I request one.
For example: https://www.speedrun.com/Ether_One https://www.speedrun.com/The_Occupation
The two games are canonically connected, but from a story perspective, you wouldn't really be able to tell that much, would this be a problem?
Furthermore I would also like to ask whether or not series names can be changed if need be, as there's not technically an official name for this series, and I wouldn't want to lock in an incorrect name if I'd be unable to change it later if and when an official name gets confirmed.
I know that last questions a little concerning, but I haven't quite seen anything akin to this before, so... would it be okay?
After looking around some, I'd say it seems as long as it exists as a series, it can have a series board. I mean, Two Worlds has a series board and the second game only has one run. I don't think they have to be canonically related either, given Link's Crossbow Training is part of the LoZ series, (but that at least further establishes it as a series, I'd think). I infer the only problem would be just coming up with an easily searched name for the series. I think as long as they are roughly related, they'd be fine. I guess just name it after Ether One as long as players of The Occupation can easily know that the two games are connected?
As to changing series names, no idea. Since they'd have to change the URL, I'd imagine it would just take fixing a few links and some text- not really any more difficult than what they do in the series changes thread. (I've never worked in large databases, so I could be wrong.)
...I'm really just taking educated guesses here. I searched as well, and also found very little similar to this situation.
