GANs for detecting spliced run

Hello, I'm not part of the speedrunning community but I enjoy watching runs and I've been aware of many spliced runs getting validated on the website (more recently the pokemon one).

I was wondering if the moderators had some modern tools for detecting splicing or other types of cheating ? For example Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) could be trainzd pretty easily to detect with near perfect accuracy if a run is spliced. Has anything like this already been done ?

If it doesn't exist already, I might be interested in developping such tools if some moderators were to help me collect data (spliced runs or other forms of cheating).

Also to note is that such a tool is also a weapon because it could similarly splice runs in an undetectable way. So this is the occasion to also ask if you think it's a goid thing to develop ?

This sounds very optimistic. How are you so sure of this if you don't even know whether it's been done or not?

Anyway, yeah, this sort of thing can quickly turn into an arms race where no one wins, so it's hard to say whether such a thing existing would be good or not. That said, a lot of detecting cheating goes beyond merely analyzing the raw video and audio.
